Just would like to say that due to severe beatings from corp members and customers alike, M.Corp is continuing it's business at full steam. Sure, prices have to rise... I dislike this fact a lot, but I have been told by all that the package still represents fantastic value for isk even at the new price point.

We will continue to offer our product for as long as possible, so get your bums in the MCORP_BPCS channel for the deal of a lifetime.

M. Corp chose the option of not passing what seems to us to be ridiculous prices on to our most valuable asset, our customers. Rest assured M. Corp can and will adapt to the current lab slot pricing structures and market atmosphere. We will not be liquidating our assets. We are investigating production options but this has never been our core market and it will take time to make a conversion should we decide to build this into our business. Please do keep us in mind for future BPC business.

As Vel stated, the current trend in Eve (despite good intentions) seems to be towards requiring the attention and time of a RL job as opposed to a game to which you come home for relaxation and entertainment. At least that is how we are being affected. This may be good or bad depending on your personal taste and objectives. If the market factors become more favorable, I'm confident we will be offering our second-to-none product once again to many happy customers. The same applies to any alternative entrepreneurial endeavors, such as production, that we may embark upon.

It is a major shame to see Mcorp stopping what they are good at.....

Could Mcorp not adapt and simply change the packages they offer? I.e simply flood the market with cheaper bpc rather than huge package deals?

lol the price will only fall when its at price that is tooooo expensive to rent it ...as the slots need to be free for 24hrs for any major decrease in price and as they are getting let go more ppl are taking them up.. so sry see u guys go and ccp this was sucky idea fo rent increase all it has done is insure more ppl dont get chance at getting lab cos by the time it comes to them getting one they cant afford it any way pfft nice idea plz take it stick it were it should belong in ur bottom drawer of the desk ;P kiss kiss

There are still labs out there that are remarkably cheap (weekly rent < 10,000 isk and falling at the minute). Might be a bit of a risk moving your BS BPOs there though, but that's the essence of risk vs reward.

If you follow supply and demand. It would seem that the BPC market is now flooded, else the sale value of BPCs should increase across the board by all producers as they all feel the same inflationary market pressures.

The only other option is that other BPC sellers are either producing at a cost advantage or are selling at a loss.

Losers - Those that cannot adapt to the market pressures
Winners - Those that adapt or are willing to pay the inflated pricing

IMHO the ppl out there with already researched BPOs should now be considering either selling off assets or starting manufacturing. I know of at least one individual who is making tidy sums running his BPO with purchase orders of minerals in high security empire space. He by default has others mine for him (at a profit for the miners) and then manufactures from those minerals (at a profit for himself). The end result is inflated pricing on goods, which reflects the new market dynamic. Is this really a bad thing?

In the end it would appear that progressive lab rentals is working for the goal of freeing up lab slots. At some point ppl will actually begin to consider NOT renting slots based upon the current rents at that site vs the value of extra ME or BPCs being generated.

The end result from this will be stabilization of lab rents at a new but elevated level, resulting in a new stabilization of the market.

Velios I am quite sure that you can continue to produce as long as your cost models now reflect inflated lab slot pricings (as I know they now do having purchased some BPC packs myself from your corp).

At some point, low end BPOs may actually become attractive at ME 0 vs the costs of the run up of ME levels, let alone the costs of BPC production.

Corps who currently have high end ME level BPOs are in a very profitable position for either manufacture or BPC production vs noobs such as myself. As noobs such as myself have to bear the dual burden of competing with already high ME BPOs and thus BPCs vs running up my own BPOs.

I guess in the end those ppl who already have high end ME level prints have a decided advantage over noobs and under the current inflationary methods always will from now on.

BUT one has to admit that progressive rental increases will force the end to unlimited ME level runs of "bookmarking" prints to hold lab slots.

The next big question is where will lab rentals stabilize vs market demand. My guess would be about 3-4mil in empire high sec and 2-3mil in lower sec areas. At that point only high value (ie high mineral use prints) will be worth running to any appreciable level of ME.

PS those who now have ME 347 S Hybrid ammo prints you can now own the ammo market if you want .

As an aside our 9 labs (5 found in the last two weeks from rental lapses due to pricing i assume - 4 others found over 8 months), are all running up ship prints from FF to BC, with a BB to be added soon. I would expect the only way we will make our investments back (@ 500 million) will be by production, as the other prints out there have higher ME than ours and the market is flooded with prints that we cannot compete with for sales. So I as a small timer see exactly what velios refers to. Our escape plan will be manufacturing.

Velios if your looking to unload some assets PM me in game, if not hold onto them and wait for the markets to stabilize.

I agree with you 100%. Labs costing 2 mil per 5 days is ridiculous. If people with as much money and interest in maintaining this business model CANT make it work, how is a little guy with a lab or two supposed to make it work?

Where are the lab slot modules for POS CCP?? I'd rather pay maintenance and fuel for my own POS then pay overpriced lab rent and office rent.

In reality, a large market demand not only drives prices, it also drives supply. Too bad the plan did not also implement a significant increase in supply instead of merely jacking up the price. By limiting the availability of a commodity to a significantly reduced customer base, trade will surely suffer. Alas, perhaps that was also an objective of the plan.

Totally agree, not only has it hit the big sellers, the small time sellers cant trade. HOW can i possibly afford to copy cruiser,destroyers at that cost a week its not an income its a chore now just getting enough cash to pay the lab fee. Velios, I'm sorry if this sound heavy handed, but I'm really tired and my diplomacy is probably not what it should be.

To summarise, the selling of BPCs is no longer profitable for you to have a (presumably) large amount of labs so you are releasing them. Well, wasn't that what the rental changed were designed to do? So is your post reporting success for CCP's plan?

I also don't see the need to garner sympathy for your plight with RP'ed customer service. Let's be honest sales in Eve are nothing about how good your service is, it's all price, supply and demand.

Presumably M Corp will either go further out of empire, thus freeing up empire slots, or stop using slots, thus ... well, freeing up slots. If it is affecting you, then it surely must be starting to pinch other big renters... result!

Just out of curiosity, why weren't you able to up the prices of your BPCs to match your increased costs? Were your competitors selling at a loss? Or had they found a way of keeping costs down?

Sorry your going out of the BPC market, i agree that its become increasingly difficult to offer the packages you did and i understand the logistics of just running a few labslots doing cruiser BPC's but well done for all the sucesses you had with them.

Lets hope production doesnt suffer as BPC's become less availible, but i suppose deidicated producers will have there own BPO's by now anyway.

Sorry to see M. Corp get out of the business. They've always been professional and came upon a unique way to do business.

Raising prices, i still believe, was the thing to do, but knowing how the prices are increasing, i wonder two things; how much further will the prices go up, and at what point will ccp say to themselves "Yes we brought the prices up, but it looks like we will need to incease the number of slots available in the eve universe.

I think we have found the culprit for the lab/office rent increase.

Please note that this income would have been at the height of trading, before BS bpc's flooded escrow and that to do so often required many hours of effort of behalf of the sales staff and others at M. Corp.

A more moderate measure of succes might be to state sales topped 1bn isk in a month, which would be a more stable estimate to base any calculations upon.

Also note that to make that income required a blueprint investment in originals probably in excess of 8 billion isk, a lot for a small, dedicated corp to work towards achieving.

Furthermore, researching an battleship print to the point of reasonable sale (ME10) takes one month of research before even seeing a single isk of that investment being recouped.

Whatever the issue with lab slots, I can assure you M. Corp worked hard for every single sale and to grow that business and gained a reputation second to none for dedication and customer service.

It pains me to announce the closure of the BPC business I and many other corp members have grown over the past 18 months of playing EVE. During this time we have invested profits in the procurement of more and more blueprints in an effort to supply the eve community with something unique. The M.Corp BPC package has been a recognised product for thousands of satisfied customers for so long now.

We have met a lot of friends along the way... The personal way in which we conduct business is the main pleasure for us... many customers became corp members and even corp directors. The community we developed in our BPC channel was unique and something to be proud of, and it is with a heavy heart that we will no longer be able to offer this service to eve.

The reason we are stopping is simply because we cannot realistically inflate the price of our BPC packages at the same rate as the lab slot rent rises which are set to hit 2m isk every few days in the next week. For all the work that goes into making these packages (over 50 items per pack) we are only just breaking even at the end of each week, and the lab costs are set to overtake our projected income by the end of next week.

At it's height, M.Corp could make maybe 100-150m isk in an evening if we worked hard, advertising in the correct places, and taking the time with our customers to make sure they left happy and would spread the word to their friends. I would like to personally thank each and every person that came through our doors to buy BPC's from us - you made being an eve businessman very enjoyable for all of us on the team! :)

This is not a whinging post - after all it's CCP's game and they can do what they like with EVE in an attempt to make it better. I and many many others however do not agree that the heavy handed approach to lab / factory / office rental rises is good for the EVE population in general. The game has become a financial burden for a lot of players I have spoken too, and all the fun has been drained out of it for many of us right now.

M.Corp will of course try to resume our activity bigger and better than before, all that we require is a suitable climate for a stable business to operate in and the knowledge that the rug will not once again be pulled from under our feet... making all the effort we put in meaningless.
