Yes. Though not when performing activities which require you to uncloak, such as jumping through stargates. This is assuming the use of Covert Op Cloaking Device II (only possible on Covert Ops Ships, Helios for Gallente, and the cloaking Recon, Arazu for Gallente. This cannot be fit on Stealth Bombers, Nemisis for Gallente).

this is only for Helios/recon - not stealth bombers, etc.

Which activities require one to uncloak - jumping through star gates? anything else? I guess if the gate is camped one has to be very diligent about uncloaking and cloaking again when on the other side.

As soon as you wish to interact with any object you must be decloaked.

Note that while nearly everything is supposed to decloak you, sometimes stations and stargates do not. In fact, I've found that most often they do not until you actually hit the station/gate model.
Also, be wary of cropses, as Agios wrote. Corpses decloak you, so you need to add "Biomass" to overview to keep yourself out of harm's way

New sig coming soon

Drone musing (MC-boards)

This can be done in a split second unless you get a message - "Traffic jam on the other side. Please wait" :)
Appearing on the other side is another story. Whether you're using a covert ops frigate with covert ops cloak or Occator with a regular one, you WILL appear in overview of other pilots for a split second. If you're fast enough, they will NOT be able to target you but a decent interceptor pilot who pays attention to the environment and isn't drinking soda when gate activates will be able to determine your approximate location and - if you're not quick enough and/or you don't have enough luck in your cargo bay - approach you and decloak.

----------------
Sturmgrenadier - the biggest online gaming syndicate.
RECRUITMENT
Eve-WoW-PlanetSide-Guild Wars-WW2-BF2-DAoC

No, once you are cloaked, the only way to find you is if you accidentally pass within 2km of something or if you uncloak by deactivating the cloaking device.

3. First of all, activate cloaking device as soon as possible. Keep in mind that once something has you locked, you can't cloak. Additionally, NPCs will STILL scan your cargohold - you cannot cloak fast enough.

New sig coming soon

Drone musing (MC-boards)

I'm totally in the dark about covert-ops and cloaking and wanted to ask a few questions to the knowledgeable eve players:

- when flying in a covert-ops ship using the right equipment, are you totally invisible when warping, jumping, etc? If not, what are the limitations?

- is there a way for another player to "uncloak"/detect you either by using specific module or in another way? Are there any probes or sensors that could give you away?

- if this is to be used strictly for courier purposes to 0.4 and lower from empire, and speed and security is above cargo space - what are the considerations or limitations that one should be aware of?

Thank you very much in advance for any feedback.
