Simple. 80percent of thier "largest alliance" were off mining somewhere. They had a very small pvp force. Thats why.

80 percent of goons are in the blob fighting everyday. So our blob is bigger than your blob. And yes, 300 frigs / cruisers can beat a 100 BS gang. All BoB can do is hide behind the DD device. Its thier only hope. Lets see if thieer 3 guys can beat the entire universe...

Actually not entirely correct on the ASCN bit. First weeks of the war we fielded some 300 man fleets, including well over 100-150 BS. There are a lot of reasons why ASCN failed, but lack of participation became a problem only after a while (particularly the TPAR attack where we lost several BS-heavy fleets to nodecrashes and some mistakes). And the lack of dreadfleet deployment in the primary theatre (PS/Eso and later Feyth) finally sealed ASCNs fate IMO. Without dreads, there was little ability to kill POSses, which ate away at the resolve of those still fighting.

That being said, I hope and think RAGoon make a significantly more potent (and certainly with RA and BE a more experienced and battlehardened) force than ASCN turned out to be.

goon:

- great organization
- a bunch of great pvpers with 345345325 bees in cruisers/frigates ready for orders

Not.

I never saw one Goon Dreadnaught, the 20 plus Dreads were all Red Alliance, Goonflies got to carry RA's books to school, then forked over their lunch-plex money to them, or get popped in the face.

My hat is off only to Red Alliance; for finding and supporting allies that helped them win the day, only RA deserves the credit for making the plan and making it happen.

I think you are mistaken here. ASCN was the biggest alliance in the game before their last war. And they didn't win this war. So the statement that 'biggest numbers win' is not valid.

Biggest numbers of determined people wins. Now, that is some other topic. But shouldn't it be this way?

Sounds like he was there. As his "nutshelled" version of events is pretty damn accurate.

meatshield comes to mind...

IMO numbers were the main issue , but also having 23/7 timezone cover was arguably more important.

With having RA guys having many multiple timezones then moving into TCF (euro) and CA(euro/US) then onto GOONs(mainly US i think) then back full circle to RA. Very few other entities in the game can cover that amount of time with the vast numbers that were seen.

Your basic mistake is very simple - you wanted totally annihilate RA.
We wanted to have 2 regions and have wars for fun.

3 phases of this conflict:

1) V and FSA attack RA space (Wicked Creek and Cache). RA come back from Xetic space and defend our stations. RA win.
2) 5. broke nap and attack RA space (Shinra, M. etc backstab ex-CA friendship). RA win. Personal thk for RAT.
3) RA without fight hands superfluous regions: CHIMP POS spam in Detorid, V take Scalding Pass, LV take Tenerifis. After that LV/V and Co attack on the last RA regions (motto: destroy and remove RA from 0.0 space).

I do not quote here all racial insults in our address because of which you have received hatred and personal motivation of Red Alliance.

This is not war for fun, this is revenge for your long language and short memory.
RA would never had done it without help of GoonSwarm and TCF and RA never will forget that!

Now we have our home and very good allies. Again time for fun!

We were offered to surrender the stations in Cache and have a docking rights on them. You are informed very badly about offers that were given to us or do you realy think that Red Alliance could ever accept such humiliating offers?
We didnt surrender to [5] when we were reduced to Cache and we didnt surrender when we had only one system attacked by LV, V, ASCN and others.
Thats what we play for. We want to play for fun, suddenly there are always someone who wanna conquer us and make us surrender, again we proved what im always talking about - we never surrender. I think its kind of fun.

Good Fight. Regardless of the fact we lost I wouldn't have missed it for the world. All of us made Eve history and I am proud to have been part of it.

On a more personal note:

o7 DZ6 I will miss sitting inside your station even if it is one of the most boring interiors in eve.
o7 nameless station that actually makes it possible for an inti to get stuck and spin - Great for pointing and laughing at haulers is that one.
o7 Angels, no wait you and your domination friends I really won't miss with your 3 types of damage, rubbish bounties and "what did the domi drop" "a large smartbomb and invun field" .

Havent you heard! LV never lost a fleet battle! Just 16 stations that they didnt want anyway.

Clearly K:D ratio are a great factor in determining the victor.

Sarcasm aside truthfully there was only 2 node crashes in the entire V/LV war. 1v- nodecrashed when it fell a few months ago and JV1V nodecrashed recently. Both systems were filled with 600+ pilots at the time of the crash and it was no fault of either party.

Oh. Wow. I didnt actually realise the RAGoons and friends where that advanced. It seemed innevitable the outcome, but what a crazy effort. Nice one.

I remember some many moons ago, one of the Dev's, and I cant remember who, said SOMETHING to the effect of him being really interested in the goons, because he wanted to see proved that EVE was unwinnable for those who started the game late. It seems the Goons have proven that its not Skillpoints that win the day , but talent and sheer grinding determination.

And with the announcement of the FTZ, it seems theyve grown up into a real political alliance thats prepared to take some responsibility for the health of the wider EVE ecosystem.

As of today, every system that the Swarm claims of former LV space has been taken. That includes 9-9, JV1V, XGH, G-DON in Tenerifis, 77S8 and O-G in Detorid, and all five stations in Omist. We would like to publically recognize the invaluable assistance of our allies in this short yet brutal campaign, and thank them for their continued and unflinching support.

LV still holds sov in 0-W, NZW, DZ6, and DG-. At the moment, 0-W is under majority moon control of Red Alliance; DZ6 is under majority moon control of KOS alliance. Three systems in Omist are neutral sov but the stations are owned by the Swarm; we anticipate Swarm sov in five days.

We hope to open these regions to the Free Trade Zone within a week.

I like the fact you can contradict yourself within the space of one post. Saves messing about with quotes.

"WE now hold all former LV stations" "Sov is being taken in..." joy to the world, the lag is dead, oh wait no, its just a swarm nodecrash again.

congratulations to the swarm.

Im no pos warfare napoleon but i start to see the pattern: spam poses, take sov with them, wait till hostile sieges dreads,
***bonus stage*** cyano in some capitals of ure own- u get server priority when u cyano in anyway,
***bonus stage over(its just for the tought guys, kids dont do this at home)***

jump in lots of swarm + anything else u can muster along (dont make em all take frigs, it looks bad on forums use few cruisers and bss so it looks like a fleet),

be carefull while dosing, send them in by waves so u dont just crash the server, u want to overload it but just to the point where pilots are helpless saving capships, not to the point of reimbursment... after the lags clear out and mails slowly start gliding in count the losses...

hurray ure pos knows no lag hurray u have killed more capships hurray u win!!!!! (the sacrcasm was inteneded but isnt only oriented at any single party or coalition,thou u can still flame me if it makes anybody feel better)

i dont know how many bob stations can be taken by pos spam and who will siege his capital ships first for the systems that cant be spammed. Ill just let the coalition surprise me one way on another.

I fully understand the enthusiasm brought out by some but personaly i dont go around selling tigers furs if i only caught a kitten.

I agree to a lot of that, especially trying to annihilate RA has proved to be a rather stupid idea. And you deserve the victory.

In my eyes RA is a really remarkable and special alliance, in some ways the most outstanding, although you usually don't bring the 100+ fleets like other alliances.

What I respect about RA is:

RA doesn't give up, you can't break them. Most other alliances would have disbanded under that pressure and losing everything, RA didn't. It didn't take long and RA stroke back.

RA has excellent strategists, extremely dedicated players and they play the pos game maybe better than anyone else.
And they have a good bunch of pvp'ers to do their deadly surgical strikes, e.g. killing the ERA dreads was a masterpiece, also killing several of the coalition capitals, when C-J was sieged the first and the second time and you were heavily outnumbered.

RA really has my respect. If I should name the alliance, who will survive longer than any other alliance, then my bet is surely on RA.

The fights were outstanding. The coalition of former red boxes worked very well together. It was worth having set many to blue for the first time in ages to help in this fight.

Oh hey by the way guys there are so many t2 ships running around in delve it will make your mouth water. Its like being the lion on the edge of the tree line looking at thousands of juicy t2 zebras.

They even jump motherships in to take on 2 recons and a battleship outside a station. Its going to be weeks of great loot and great fights to come.

Can't wait til the coalition gets to delve to help us ruin the neighborhood.

Good play Goons. The swarm makes me smile, and that after all, is what games are supposed to be about.

Also, definite props to RA. They're ghostly quiet on the forums compared to so many of the spammer alliances, but they absolutely get s*** done.

I'd be interested to know how much of an impact Burn Eden had on this particular job as well. I know they've been lending their capitals to the swarm, and suspect a fair bit of combat leadership to boot. Importing a bunch of deeply knowledgable potential battle commanders into a horde of cannon fodder seems like a pretty good move.

Main credit goes to RA for this, tenacious bunch to say the least. 47 days because LV pulled out and preserved assets rather than fight a protracted war. It's not like every outpost was systematically taken down. In the end, number of pilots on the battlefield win out over strategy and preparation.

RA was already down to zero stations at one point.
ASCN was only in for one weekend. The plan was to conquer C-J back in a fast action, but actually it only led to lag, a few dead capitals and a minor number of poses shot into reinforcement. Coalition was probably not willing to exchange one capital for one pos and ASCN probably not to stay there for more than one weekend.

RA has become really professional in the defense and in pos wars, nevertheless they are no gods. They had more space than they could hold on their own and they lost it. They started already to lose space, when their numbers (RA + xx ra-friends corps) were on their side, because they had more regions than they could hold after the [5] vs. RA war and they knew it.

So well, I'm sure RA could not have solo-killed LV either and also not -V- during the time, when V was on it's height and has just marched into Scalding Pass. Every alliance has their limits. Once you have more territory than you can defend on your own, you get into trouble, except you manage to get some other strong alliances in the boat, who can take care of that territory.

P.S.: I notice that history is written by the winners, but it should at least be written by those, who were not on the other side of the universe and just got some info from hearsay.

Grats RAgoon.

Without having to defend, LV now has all hands free to attack. Maybe they can cause some havoc in the alliances that moved the most parts of their fleets to the frontlines. Or they can assist BoB, operating from bases in Stain. I think they evaced alot of stuff to Stain since quite a while now.

If any alliance wanted to take some space in 0.0, now would be a good time. They can either join the Ragoon bandwaggon and hope they can live in the newly conquered space as slaves to RaGoon. Or they could attack some of the smaller RaGoon bandwaggoners in their homesystems.

LV might have lost their space, but now they are set free to roam. We will see what they will do, but I would not write them off so easily.

January 26, northen Detorid, system DG-. 15 LV's dreads and 1 carrier died to RA+GS joint fleet.
Of couse we UTTERLY failed, we miss at least 6 LV's capitals in begining of assault. :(

Anyway, respect to our allies for their persistence and dedication. Respect to LV for nice battles, and thanks for giving us endless fun in last year. Lallante and Klez we will miss for u :)

If I were in command of LV and I knew how many alliances were after my territory, I would hesitate to present my cap fleet to immediate danger when I have a chance to use the fleet more effectively with Bob's fleet. Though, you have a point, the southern coalition must have a much larger force.

I don't see that Goonswarm deserves anything more then an honorable mention in this year long war between LV and RA. You were only there for, by your admittance, 45 days.

LV's allies crumbled around them, and as the correlation of forces changed, they simply started losing. It's not because of you. You take credit for 11 months of warfare that you did not participate in.

I doubt you'll fare so well in BoB space.

good job goons. But as someone already mentioned there will be a counter-attack. Ill bet right when your most involved in delve, and all your towers are up taking sov in boD's space there will be a huge spam of LV and ISS towers in your back country. Hope you all prepare for that.
All in all Im gonna kinda miss LV and some old friends are gonna be hurt my the lose of their stations (0/ Shy and Eden) but the band of b****s needs to go. so despite my old friends, SUPPORT the NEW coalition or stfu

Isnt it ironic that these entities are the ones that is gonna end up killing bob, if not being the only ones that have actually tried and been the closest to success to date?

This thread belongs to RA if anyone, but the goons have contributed much to this cause aswell and they deserve just as much credit.

So well played RA. I think RA and LV are not really comparable. They have different strenght.

And the preconditions were different by the time RA turned the whole thing around. RA was fighting for their survival and space in 0.0, while LV and V had the territory they wanted. They didn't want more, it was imho just about kicking RA out and installing other alliances in their space. CHIMP had already began to crumble becuase of internal problems and they had also their space.
The coalition had probably lost a lot of their initial drive after they took the regions they wanted for themselves.
I mean afaik it all started with -V- going for Scalding Pass, before LV was formed and the Coalition was born and that goal was already achieved in march 2006 or so.

I really hope for the nodes sake that the goons and d2 still use this as an opportunity to go for a two pronged war.

Both in themselves are enough to tie up BoB, if not conclusivelly defeat them, but if they were to work as two seperate fleets simultaniously there is very little BoB could do, whichever fleet they didn't respond to would take the system.

Throw into the mix the phenominon that was black lance that I had the pleasure of flying with a LONG time ago in a diff char (Fourfingers frankie ftw!) and the rest of that mean ass alliance and i simply dont see a way that BoB can stop the fall of two systems a week at least if things are coordinated properly.

Go gf, you did a good job, and BoB, may you live in interesting times.

Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim.

I'm pretty sure that LV has been fighting RAGOON for quite a bit longer than Band of Brothers has cared.

The war certainly didn't start 47 days ago. That's just when it got quite a bit more difficult for LV

Good Job too all our enemies because lets say who was the real enemy of LV, a constant 300 man blob in all time zones. We dont fight only GOON or only RA, in every major battle that implys POS spanking from LV systems, we have been outnumbered 4:1 in the best case, 400 hostile on local is a common info from the scouts.

So pls lets say good job : RA, GOON, IAC, TCF, UNL, CA and all there friends who jump in the bangwagon u 12000 ppl manage to take in 46 days 90% of the LV stations, but u dont manage to destroy us we still exist and we will find a way to evolve and prevail.

PS: I kindly ask all LV pilots to remember how ugly is to smack, a GG or GJ is all we need to say, thank you all

The goons has awaken

When the goons first appeared on new eden many months ago.. Alot of people, including myself coulnt help laugh abit about this new super community that were all flying in frigs and making a mess in syndicate..

The goons back then wasnt considered a threat for most orginisations but rather an amusement.. Then XZH happend, the goons first real test against a serious opponent. "Lucky" for me I had the opportunity to fight against the goons in XZH and in S-U for a long time.. One thing I learned was never to underestimate an orginasation that maybe was all less skilled in skillpoints but was highly orginised and had the numbers and the will todo whatever they want..

I must admit the goons are for me to this date the most freigtening orginasation I have ever fought against.. Becuase no matter how many you killed they will just be comming back..

I remember after a few weeks in s-u where E-R had been figthing the goons for a few weeks. Escador sayd something I cant seem to forget:

"Whats the point, all we do is training them.."

Back then I thought that comment was rather funny, but also a good point about how the Goon mentality is..

Anyway enough of my rabble and I say welcome to the superpowers of EVE.. I foresee that alot will change in the comming months and Goons will tear the old school EVE to pieces and thats impressive, and more important its good for EVE.. It has taken allmost 4 years for a new community in the world of EVE to be in a position to influence EVE and again its about time, but frankly the only one who can do it is the goons..

So grats Goons, just remember every empire will fall its how you behave when you are at you highest that defines you in the history books of EVE.

But again its EVE, who knows whats gonna happend..

As of today, every system that the Swarm claims of former LV space has been taken. That includes 9-9, JV1V, XGH, G-DON in Tenerifis, 77S8 and O-G in Detorid, and all five stations in Omist. We would like to publically recognize the invaluable assistance of our allies in this short yet brutal campaign, and thank them for their continued and unflinching support.

LV still holds sov in 0-W, NZW, DZ6, and DG-. At the moment, 0-W is under majority moon control of Red Alliance; DZ6 is under majority moon control of KOS alliance. Three systems in Omist are neutral sov but the stations are owned by the Swarm; we anticipate Swarm sov in five days.

We hope to open these regions to the Free Trade Zone within a week.
