1. Eve skill progression - an example of good game design - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Originally by: Godagast Moonbane And what, exactly, is so bad about that? Think about it. In the real world, do your skills at something get better simply by repetition, as in EQ or WoW? Does, for example, the beer you brew get better al...

2. Eve skill progression - an example of good game design - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Originally by: Trak Cranker Why is training to make beer more of an accomplishment than mining veldspar, or collecting mins to start a production of ships. It's not just training to make beer. It's making beer so that the beer you ma...

Edited by: Meer on 10/10/2005 15:12:17 Originally by: Godagast Moonbane There is no need to get personal. A reply beginning with the words "with all due respect" is hardly rude or arrogant, especially by internet forum standards. So ...

4. Eve skill progression - an example of good game design - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Originally by: Godagast Moonbane With all due respect, Meer, but I don't think that what you are describing is a failure of the Eve skill training system - it's your failure to find something worthwhile to do in the game. And I do think t...

5. Eve skill progression - an example of good game design - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
The problem with Eve's skill system is that it completly removes any personal achievement that one might want. On a daily basis I struggle to find something, anything, as a goal. Pretty much everything I do in game really doesn't help me work towa...

8. Would you leave EVE for the Elite Online that is coming? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Edited by: Meer on 05/10/2005 12:46:55 As with any online game it all depends on what the other game offers. Things that I would leave Eve for in a heartbeat: A game where the environment wasn't the same in pretty much all systems. A game whe...

11. There is something that bothers me about opening planets... - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Currently in the game you really can't fly your ship freely. You have to target something and fly to it. Isn't this going to pose a major handicap to letting players land on planets? How is exploration going to be be allowed if players can't free ...

15. The last straw! Eve vs OS X ? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Well I guess you won't be playing Eve then. There is no reason why your processor should be overheating like that unless you don't have the proper cooling capabilities. They even come with the proper cooling system, so there is something else up.
