1. Running Eve without Shader Model 2 using 3D-Analyze - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
Edited by: Oblom on 30/09/2009 19:46:34 I used the instructions from the original post. And it worked. But I installed 3D-Analyze in the root directory. Like C:\3D-Analyze. I did try first installing it on desktop. And it didn't work. Apparen...

2. The unexplainable lag/client freezing - in Test Server Feedback [original thread]
It's just a bad client design. I bet they hired some smart kid who wrote the first client. Everything loooked good in the beta tests with 10 people playing. May be this kid was a great programmer, but he obviousely disn't know a thing about real t...

3. EVE video performance issue - in Test Server Feedback [original thread]
Yea, great! Thanks for the idea. I did all this and after a couple of days of talking to support they told me that I need to get a better computer. I understand that there is nothing wrong with my setup, but their software sux.

4. remove instadock - in Test Server Feedback [original thread]
WTZ = Warp To Zero. To the spot. He wants people to linger on the approach to the stations so he can set up a trap there.

6. Stutter, freezing and lag - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
Originally by: Solbright Originally by: Oblom I am curious about hyperthreading. Is this a known issue? I am also experiencing problems. However it's not like random lock ups, but very bad framerate. Ya, that would be the expect...

8. Boost your FPS - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
Edited by: Oblom on 12/04/2007 21:28:19 I am experiencing same low FPS and nothing hepled much. Every other game runs without any problems. But EVE's slideshows I am getting are making this game annoying and simply unplayable in some situatio...

9. EVE video performance issue - in Test Server Feedback [original thread]
I am having low frame rate too. Also ATI card, but 9800. Getting like 50 - 70 wile docked. But when undock, it drops to 5 - 9. Becames a slideshow. During missions it becomes lower and can drop to one per second and less on some ocasions when ther...

10. The Spy Stash (L3) in Cyclone - in Missions & Complexes [original thread]
This mission drives me nuts :). It's 3rd day already. I will try to figure out what damage they make and take. I think they are Guristas. Will look it up. As for running to the gate, it's not the case. First stage is OK. You just kill them one by...

11. The Spy Stash (L3) in Cyclone - in Missions & Complexes [original thread]
Thanks for your replies. But nothing worked so far. There must be some trick to this particular mission. So far shield goes down too fast, so I can't do anything. Then after I warp out, it takes 10 min to get back there.

12. Tutorial Missions - in Missions & Complexes [original thread]
Another way to find agents is a map. You can select "color stars by my agents." You will see green dots on stars that have agents you can use. Bigger dot - higher quality agent. When you mouse over them, it will pop up a little list with descripti...

13. The Spy Stash (L3) in Cyclone - in Missions & Complexes [original thread]
I just started level 3 missions. First 2 were long, but OK. I didn't have any serious problems with them. And now I got The Spy Stash and I'm stuck. When I warp to second stage, I am ambushed by NCP ships and centry batteries. They hit quite hard ...

14. Decouple Client Interface from Network - in EVE Technology Lab [original thread]
Edited by: Oblom on 01/04/2007 03:48:15 Originally by: Solbright Well, isn't that a good enough reason? To make some noise so CCP takes action? They don't care and they don't listen. I started playing this game in 2005. And I qui...

15. Decouple Client Interface from Network - in EVE Technology Lab [original thread]
Too much data or not - it doesn't matter. Updates of the screen with available information should never stop. Like own ship, static surroundings and things like blinking stars . Arriving data can be buffered and processed as time allows. There wi...

16. Decouple Client Interface from Network - in EVE Technology Lab [original thread]

17. Decouple Client Interface from Network - in EVE Technology Lab [original thread]
Originally by: Solbright Lag is not the cause of stutter. Decoupling is pretty simple really and prolly easier to do in a single thread than trying to use IPC functions. It depends. You need to use asynchronous I/O for everything with ...

18. Decouple Client Interface from Network - in EVE Technology Lab [original thread]
Originally by: Solbright Edited by: Solbright on 30/03/2007 22:58:15 ... As for achieving decoupling, you certainly don't need multi-threading for that. It can be done and it was done numerous times. But it makes program structure...

19. Decouple Client Interface from Network - in EVE Technology Lab [original thread]
Edited by: Oblom on 31/03/2007 02:03:22 Lag is a common problem for any online game. But stopping screen updates completely while waiting for server to respond is just a sloppy program design. Nothing more. Not a "decision they made." You ren...
