There are places where it seems the UI thread is blocked, like when requesting market data or the initial login screen. A little multi-threading in those areas would go a long way.

Turn off Aero while playing. Eve conflicts with the Desktop Manager... it what renders all windows applications in the background for the mouse over preview effect of the task bar. Run in windowed mode for 2 clients.

how large is your page file? I've seen eve get hover around 2 gigs when I've bothered to look, however i haven't seen it consistently climb and crash.
