If you disconnect your ship should remain in space for at least 30-60 second then disappear if you are not in combat. If you want to log off in space then a 30-60 second countdown queue should appear (just like when servers are about to shut down)...

If you are not a pirate then you are an anti-pirate. Anti-pirate corps pose little danger with the new warp to 0km. Anti-pirate corps usually don't go out of their way to hunt for the pirate. They usually start pirate hunting once one of their own...

I jumped through a jumpgate and the game never came back after that, my character won't even load up because of the lag. Funny how CCP brags about having 32k players on their server but can't keep the damm thing stable.
