Max range scanning doesnt cover the whole system that you are currently in. I might show the majority of it sometimes but that just depends on which system you are in and where in that system you currently are.
Roleplaying wise, people being shown in local chat automatically doesnt make sense. If people / ships didnt want to advertise the fact that they are in local then they should get a choice about that :P would give the carebears something to do whilst they are mining :) and for once people might have to use scouts instead of just looking in local chat :P
Maybe thats something they could give back to low sec systems after the latest sentry gun crap? they could stop people being automatically displayed in local chat :)

Edited by: Qutsemnie on 11/08/2004 13:33:43 Edited by: Qutsemnie on 11/08/2004 11:54:59 I would rather see a sophisticated long range autoscanning system instead of local but im just saying local was a nice metaphor for such a system. If they are going to remove the metaphor for long range auto scanning then they ought to build long range autoscanning into the game.
I shouldnt have to go line by line over and over. As a player im supposed to responsible for the big fun decisions not the tedius stuff my toon is assumed to be doing. Also im sure computerized help would be in order. Eve software programmers [edit:not CCP developers im imagining eve universe software programers here] can code a computerized drone that can fight a battle by the dozen but they cant give me a computer that can filter out the asteroids on my long range scanner and just show me the ships?
Suspension of disbelief is suffering...
Maybe longrange auto scan should be a mid slot module. So if scouts wanted an aid they could mount the long range auto scanner.

So you all wont be happy till secure space is no longer secure and you can follow in Tank CEO foot steps by driving all the new players away? Not to mention every time CCP gives into your whines and cries it drives yet another non-pvp out of the game. Hope you learned how to manufacture your own ships...
Todate I have turned down 5 offers to be the ship maker for PvP groups. Free-form Professions, ensure no limetations on professions. Be a trader, fighter, industialist, researcher, hunter,pirate[/i] or mixture of them all.

also i would just like to add why do you think people need new bs? most miners will produce there own ppl who pvp use insurance to buy new ones no pvp=no sales gl in making your money without selling to pvp'ers

The only way that this will make secure space less secure is if you get popped by a war enemy. I'm fairly sure that CONCORD doesnt need a join message to know that youre there. -------------------------------------------- CONCORD: Kneecapping Pilots for Misdemeanors Since 2003 |

And every time they give in to the carebear element demanding less pvp, it drives another pvper away. This is not what the game needs. I think CCP are trying to find a balance between the two sides (pvp and nonpvp) so everyone's satisfied. (Note I didn't say happy). _______________________________________________ Eris Discordia: On the scale of funny and constructive it scores low, real low. |

So basically you've been slapped in the face all day by the reality that PvPers are an essential part of what you enjoy in the game, and you're crying anyways. Boo hoo.

Aahh, ffs, you could keep an eye on local even before it was implemented, if you had few brain cells. Take it as natural selections, dumb life forms die. Bloody lazy people who grew up with "god mode" and "power overwhelming" in SP starcraft.
It was just an overkill, the whole point of moving fleets around was to attack at your own moment of choice, you guys seem to want some "auto warp me out to a safespot 300 au away whenever ebil pirate comes into system" feature.
And, no I'm not a pirate, I just want pvp, not some frigging coop mining sim with chat. --

Hate to break it to you but... why do you think there is a big market for ships in EVE (hint hint)
BTW, many pvp'ers DO have te ability to manufacture their own ships, even if they dont use their main char or corp. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "You humans are extremely irritant with your illogical behaviour and irrational thought" -------- |
