Here the Mac client.
Does the EVE client (Windows code) from the mac client is the same that the Windows client? Can we get an advantage running the Windows client dedicated to the Cider engine in Wine?

Basically, yes. Mac users should be able to use full-blown Premium on their Mac via wine.
This is what I don't get about the drop of the Linux client. The wineX code for both the Linux and Mac version should be mostly the same.
The Mac version would use DirectX-to-OpenGL translation in a BSD-ish userland on Intel.
The Linux would use DirectX-to-OpenGL translation in a Linux userland on Intel.
The Cider technology, Transgaming's winelib equivalent from what I read on their paid-customer-only internal site, should differ in very minor ways.
It is sad but Linux users didn't use the offical client because it was A) uglier pre-trinity classic graphics B) being Transgaming's fork of ancient wine, old and not very functional c) slower than wine (in PvP fps can make or break you, the more buffer fps you have the larger the fleet fight you can be functional in)
Now the 'degraded' but still Premium-like graphics will be replacing the ugly classic graphics (which were poor in 2003, IMHO.)
Perhaps I should ask, why do Mac users stick with the 'official' client while Linux users switch to running wine?
Is it some must-pay-money for it to be good culture?

I just learned that the .DMG is broken and impossible to open. So I will not test the difference between these two windows binarie for now :)

The reason that Mac users stick with the official client from CCP is that we don't really have another option running a stable client on our Macs. The reason we don't use wine is that wine does not support the Mac platform. The only good alternative to use wine on our Macs is to use Crossover Games/Mac Pro and you even have to pay for that too.But hence the fact that even Crossover does not run the latest version of wine and it isn't even stable as you would expect it to run as it should be.
So you are completely wrong about it.And trust me if we had a good alternative besides running the official client on our Macs we would do it.So you might consider yourself lucky to be able running wine on your computer running GNU/Linux even when CCP stop supporting you guys(which I think is lame....)

You are asking the wrong question,it should be....."Does this well maintained Wine build not work with Macs?"
The reason it may or may not work is because the version of X11 on Macs is a little different then most GNU/Linux systems. On the Mac platform Apple codes their own version of X11 for use on the Macs and thats the reason why wine won't always work with Macs. And not to mention the difference when wine access the sound server on your system.I believe GNU/Linux systems uses OSS,ALSA and PulsAudio(correct me if im wrong) but Macs uses CoreAudio which again wine does not support.
The download you provided within your link is the official wine client so I dont think EVE will work for Mac users as good as Linux users. But thats the reason why Codeweavers and Transgaming are building their own wrapped version of wine for us to play on our Macs.

So, what you are saying is that build is not built against generic OS X? It needs further unix functionality added?

Sort of speak yes it does, but the devs from the wine project do have a problem adding those. The problem is that Apple does not support wine at all so without it wine cannot give mac user the same support in their project as it goes for GNU/Linux user.Further more everything that you need to run wine properly on the Mac is also coded inhouse by Apple like I already said, their own version of X11 and CoreAudio. Those 2 things are closed source so the devs at the wine project cannot access them and make wine fully compatible with the Mac platform. And thats the main reason why wine does not run properly on a Mac as it does on GNU/Linux.
Companies like Codeweavers and Transgaming are the only ones that try to break the barrier between wine and Mac but even they run into problems.Whenever Apple updates X11 or CoreAudio the devs at Codeweavers and Transgaming must alter their code too.Thats why programs like Crossover Games/Mac Pro and even the Cider engine are always running behind on releases compared to the officiale wine build.
The only way to get full support from wine for Mac is when Apple decides to interact with the devs at the wine project and helping them a hand in coding......but nooo Apple does not want to do so cause when they do it means it can run windows apps on a Mac and you all know (even Linux users) what Microsoft thinks about that
p.s. last argument was just from a personal perspective hehe

You can rus Wino on OSX : http://wiki.winehq.org/MacOSX
Quartz Driver: very rudimentary support through darwine patches Core Audio Driver: works 16 Byte Stack Alignment: work in progress Mach Kernel Workarounds and Exception Handling: needs a lot of work Debugger: does not work
But don't know if EVE will run on it.
