Since I have recently turned to pirating (yaarrrrrr!) I now need to be aware of which sec status systems I can travel through without the police ganking me.
I know that I can't enter 1.0 space one I go below -2.0, but is there a tiered system where you are progressively excluded from systems down to 0.4?

Edited by: MadGaz on 11/08/2004 09:26:43 I dunno if this is right, I got it in a mail.
Players with -1.5 or greater can enter all systems
Players with -2.0 or worse cannot enter 1.0 systems
Players with -2.5 or worse cannot enter 0.9 systems
Players with -3.0 or worse cannot enter 0.8 systems
Players with -3.5 or worse cannot enter 0.7 systems
Players with -4.0 or worse cannot enter 0.6 systems
Players with -4.5 or worse cannot enter 0.5 systems
Once your security status reaches -5 you are considered an outlaw and can be attacked by players anywhere without CONCORD intervention. ------------------------------------------

the first part hardly makes sense, i think the rest is correct.
-1.5 can enter everywhere. (ok). -2.0 or worse can't enter 1.0.(ok). So what happens to -1.5 --> -1.9 (they can enter 1.0)....

Hmmmm, yes, this is what I expected, but I was sure the limit for 1.0 was <-2.0, and not <-1.5. I guess as it is not written anywhere, someone in an n00b ship needs to research this!

the latest I have is this (this is from a LONG time ago though):
Security level-->Secuity status 1.0------------->-1.9 0.9------------->-2.4 0.8------------->-2.9 0.7------------->-3.4 0.6------------->-3.9 0.5------------->-4.4 0.4------------->HAVE FUN
With these ratings you will not get shot, the Sentry guns in a 0.5 will not fire if you are -4.9, but if there is navy in the area, they will get you, they may not always be there but if they are you are screwd. ------------------------------------------------

can anyone else confirm or deny this?
Last I heard, if you were -1.9 you are clear to travel anywhere.

-1.9 is perfectly safe in 1.0. -2.0 is also safe, -2.1 however, is not.
Past -2.1, the earlier posted progression is accurate.

Edited by: sutty on 11/08/2004 20:58:18 wrong because the system works by rounding numbers up, if your -2.0 its normaly like 2.0133434343 which means concord keels you. 1.9 your safe.

Hmm, that could be. I have a char that is neg sec and he safely traveled 1.0 at -2.0. However, I never delved to see if he was in fact -1.9232312432143234234234, so you may be right.
