I would like to suggest the addition of 2 bubble types, both via launcher and mobile anchorable.
1. Stasis Field Bubble - Varying sizes, and T1 / T2 would have different amounts of speed deduction, namely 25% hit to speed and 50% hit to speed or something of that nature. - Possible a gallante HIC style ship with the ability to fit a generator, for the fact that the gallante federations needed to develop something to help there blaster boats have time to get in range :)
2. Cloaking Field Bubble / Generator - Varying Sizes, T1 and T2 give size differences only - All ships within the field are cloaked, no shooting from within bubble allowed, you must escape it to shoot. - Any new ships entering or exiting the range of the bubble causes the bubble to expire at that moment and entire fleet to be visible. - Deployable/generator only from T2 Destroyer (same launcher? or perhaps a new T2 Destroyer) - Personally i like the idea of a cloaky low hi-slot high speed cloaky destroyer, with the ability to fit a special cloak field launcher / generator.

Yeah, see the reason that there is no AoE statis web is because the module is fine as is now. Anyone caught in a slow bubble, is ******* screwed. Which means, you want an I-win button. Grats! Uninstall EVE now since you don't even need to try to play the game anymore. |

Sounds like you need to try out a cloaky rapier/webbing loki fleet.

Post with your main or GTFO you asshat chicken.
Why is this suggestion that dumb? After all, there are already warp bubbles which according to your definition are "I win buttons". So you get webbed, warp out.
So you argue "But what if I get attacked by a HIC and one of these new web bubble ships?" Again, chicken. Already you could be attacked by a HIC and a minmatar combat recon (I think that's the one with the web range bonus) which would effectively be the same (if solo). If small fleet fights bring one of your own and then your fleets will match speed.... if they're right up in each other's faces otherwise it wouldn't make any difference.
You might have an actual reason not to introduce this but you failed to voice it. Stating it's an "I Win button" doesn't make it so. Back up your claim or.... yes, you've got it, GTFO.

I think the main point is that with this you wouldn't need to field a 160m+ ISK recon, you could just litter the place with bubbles. Rapiers make nice kill mails, id hate to see them made redundant.
Similarly the cloaking field to serves a limited purpose, ships that can cloak are balanced around the fact that they can cloak. This advantage would be extremely overpowered were it to be transferred to other ships.

My apologies.
I simply saw red.
Whilst I agree that there are issues with the idea it's no where near as bad as some I've read on here and not really bad enough to elicit such a vitriolic response.
Yes, without modification the suggestion is overpowered but it clearly isn't an "I win button".

Web field: No, because of all the reasons listed above.
Cloak field: No, because cloaking needs to have drawbacks. If my fleet can have one ship that is able to cloak the entire fleet, they don't take any drawbacks, but get all the benefits.
The concept of game balance must be new to you. It's time to put an end to CCP's war on piracy. Fight your own battles and stop asking CCP to do it for you. |

Consider that your average webber has a velocity bonus of -50%. Now, the OP with a 50% on T2 is probably a bit high, but a bubble that affects all pilots and hits with -10% to -25% would be a really interesting thing on grids. Especially if the bubbles weren't 10km, but 1km, so you were required to navigate around them for the optimal path. |
