I fly sleipnirs have trained support skills pretty high, I have also have very good gunnery skills, But none of this help me from getting wtfpwned by a freindly curse in a little duel. I would time my cap booster injections just so i could use the burst tank. after the first fight which was fairly close my freind started cycling the nuets which wreaked havoc on my tank. I have tried ecm drones and tracking enhancers but to no avail. my optimal with the tracking enhancer was 762m when I was being tracking disrupted with barrage. Dealing with that and the cap problems I couldnt overcome that cursed curse after mutiple tries. so After thinking about, how I perceived that the falcons were overpowered I realized its not that they are over powered it just that the minmatar race is severly lacking and in desperate need of a boost. this curse ate and chewed up a vaga and damn near every minmatar cruiser we had one on one. So I sit here in astonishment after pouring 26 mil skillpoints in what seems to be a subpar race wandering where should I go. So I think, could my huggin own a abso or a nighthawk so easily , saddly I dont think so ......not even close.
So I appoligize to all the falcon pilots because ur ship is doing what it suppose to be doing well and so is the curse/pilgrim it just seems the minmatar after this last patch are the only ones trully looking for some kind of identity. I would love to hear some suggestion on setups .. maybe my setup is wrong with the burst tank in mids and 3 gyros in the lows and 220 in the highs. i treid to fight the curse in falloff but that didnt help one bit. so someone please enlighten me to the strategy or a setup thats viable for solo ownage in a sleip. i would glady appreciate it.. signed disheartened

Originally by: Mickey Simon There's nothing wrong with your ship, you just need to learn how to pilot it properly.
So do tell Mr. Simon how am I suppose to pilot it correctly? what are u reffering to? fall-off fighting or close range , which is preferable fighting the curse ? what am I not doing when fighting a curse. please give more details then the above stated. That has no relevance at at all if u cant explain yourself nor can you even suggest I am flying it wrong. Please by all means enlighten me on the correct way to fly it..I have no choice but to listen.

Originally by: Tzar'rim This has nothing to do with Minmatar, Gallente CS would be in even more trouble than you as at least you could/should have fitted for speed and a passive tank. ECM drones work for crap as he's in recon and you should have realised that.
It's very simple; if a Curse is faster than you and you don't kill off his drones he's going to win, if you let him 'suck' on you for a while he's going to win. This again has nothing to do with you flying Minnie but rather with your ship being ill equiped to catch a Curse; they LOVE slower targets without a whole lot of drones/missiles.
Ok i get what you are saying so what tatic should I use, If I setup the sleip the way ur are suggesting I would totally be going against the bonuses of the ship. IF I microwarp over to him hes going to be constantly trying to get away fom me while eating my cap. which then i would still have no cap for web or propulsion because he will be cycling the neuts... how do i counter that. A QR sleip is not the same a pre QR sleip. I cant and want beat him at speed unless i totally gimp my tank and my dps. and with me adding a web or trying to fit a passive tank with one less midslot than a fleet will be tough. So what is the tatic to use? get close to him fast as possible and overheat everything to burn through his buffer tank before my cap goes..hmm
P.S i wouldnt have problems dealing with a gallenter command ship becasue I would fight him in falloff and with me constanlty running an AB would dictate range. which is the problem fighting the curse and I wouldnt be tracking disruted making my optiaml 762m

Originally by: Faife some ships are not meant to beat other ships. you could design a sleipnir that kills curses, but it'd be a pretty rubbish sleipnir. it'd have to be drone/missile based and have a passive buffer tank
That right there says it all. well I guess I will just have to get over it. oh well cant beatem .....join them

Originally by: Vendolius why are you trying to solo with a fleet ship anyway? That's your real problem.
Umm...the sleip is a field command ship... two everyone else, thanks for info and the flames. The rock paper analogy was right on.But is there any minmatar ship that could cause the curse to worry ? Looking at our lineup of ships dosent seem promising. This is the reason I would consider cross training to another race. Soloing in 0.0 u see alot of curse/pilgrims hunting in groups of two. i dont want a solopwnmobile i just want something that would be able to defend itself against the energysuckers in the minmatar lineup.
