I'm not sure since I don't use battleships myself, but I believe one of the more popular setups with this ship actually uses Pulse Lasers due to their damage output. You can get very respectable range out of them using T2s with scorch ammo, too.

Fitting for what? Missions? Give some more specifics.

Edit: here is what I use(d). Pretty lazy setup because I cannot be bothered to swap hardeners.

Banned for fitting way too much tank on a mission ship.

lol it was just 1 rep, but then I ran into a mission where a room of guristas aggro'ed me at the beginning so upped it to 2.

What's he gonna fit in that slot then, a 4th HS? 2 LAR is useful to actually tank like mad, meaning you can stay in the fight in tougher missions instead of having to sissy out.

For missions, I do tachyons. Only downside is that you can't really fit t2 beams without using a lot of slots. Meta 4s though are certainly good enough.
I run:
[Apocalypse Navy Issue, Tach] Armor EM Hardener II Armor EM Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Amarr Navy Large Armor Repairer Amarr Navy Heat Sink Amarr Navy Heat Sink Amarr Navy Heat Sink
Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II

If you want, you can upgrade the ACR to a t2 version and free up a rig slot (though not much else will really go on it then other than a CCC or armor rig). With all level 5 skills, it'll dish out 666DPS from the guns alone at optimal+falloff of 70km. Defense clocks in at 600 versus Sansha. You can put damage on the target out past the range the ship can target, which is well beyond what you need for missions. The advantage is you're using AN crystals which are cheaper the Scorch and last four times as long and hit harder than pulses with scorch. It's not technically cap stable, but it's effectively so. 21 minutes assuming you manage to have the lasers running all the time. I don't think I've ever neared the point that it actually was in danger of running out of cap.
You will have tracking issues on smaller ships in some missions, but I've yet to find one where I couldn't simply fly away from the rat in question and hit them dead on. Sure, you only get a couple of good shots in, but really that's all you'll need on EM weak rats. Oddly enough, against Sansha ships that use tracking disruptors, the tachyons are more effective since they can fight out to 40km-ish with falloff. Yes, fantastically less damage, but 3 TDs on a megapulse setup leaves you effective range below 20km which is much more painful.
A very solid ship for lazy gun pilots like me. :)

I used this one when I had a navy apoc.
[Apocalypse Navy Issue, pve] Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Amarr Navy Large Armor Repairer Damage Control II Armor Kinetic Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Amarr Navy Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I 100MN Afterburner II

Semiconductor Memory Cell I Auxiliary Nano Pump I Auxiliary Nano Pump I

This is for guristas, just switch the hardeners and drones if you encounter other factions. Fitting t2 pulses shouldnt be too much troubble, maybe switch the EANM for an adaptive nano plate. Faction ammo can be used as well, I just cant be bothered with getting new crystals every once in a while.

Why on earth would you want to bring a faction BS into PVP, unless you REALLY know what you're doing (anf the ship actually having a logical use). Using faction gear won't keep you from dieing due to mistakes and lack of experience.

I cant see much value in using a navy apoc over Abaddon or Geddon for pvp. But Ive never really tried apoc for close range BS action. Maybe over the usual Apoc for sniping, in which case the fitting would be the same as for a common sniping apoc, but with an extra heat sink. You'll probably be called primary, and wont deliever alot more damage over a common apoc though.

Duh. There's more to tank than LAR? How about hardeners and ditch the aux nano rigs, freeing up room for some locus II. 1 AN LAR and appropriate hardeners is plenty. ________________________________________________________
