just opened my account after some inactivity looking forward to mining. i get in my mining ship and head out to asteroid field, which about 3 months ago always had huge rocks. i come there and it's empty. i go grab a shuttle and go flying around looking for ANY asteroid field with some rocks only to find nothing. i flew into various regions and into systems with various populations and i found nothing.
where did all the rocks go?

Look for highsec dead-end systems with no stations, more than 10 jumps from Jita.
That's where you'll find your asteroids.

Or you can do missions until you find one surrounded by asteroids. Before completing the mission, swap out to your mining rig and gather it up. A good deal safer than a static belt as far as ore thieves go.

Because they're guarded.

A troll is someone who spends their entire night sitting in New Player Q&A forum posting useless crap in hopes of generating a response, such as this one. When a troll gets a response, he takes a screenshot and posts it on his blog. The blog usually contains other gems such as videos of troll playing rick astley's 'never gonna give you up' ringtone in various public places. The only visitors of the blog, mom and dad, find it hilarious.

This about covers the entirety of "Researchy Mcgee's" relevance in eve and probably otherwise. As the kids often say "pwnzored".

High sec mining has become decently profitable, combine that with the new Orca which increases mining yield, safety and ease of use by massive amounts and you can understand that there's a lot of mining going on in high sec. So you'll have to look around abit, look for the less obvious areas and you'll find tons of rocks there.
Also, "after some inactivity looking forward to mining" means you're still inactive |

You really need to move from where you are to a less populated area. Tell your relatives you are going on a spiritual quest, and may not be in touch for awhile.
Take your immediate family with you if you have one, one station is as bleak as another, IMHO, they'll adjust.
Get out Ombey's 2D maps and do some research, there are decent places not too far from trade routes or a trade hub. Your nostrils will flare with the excitement of this new adventure, you'll feel years younger, and your Eve inner-self will be rekindled with new-found energy.
But if you've got a corporation as your ball and chain, it may be time to invest in a hacksaw.
EVERYONE SEEMS NORMAL UNTIL YOU GET TO KNOW THEM. |
