How is a trial player supposed to try out PI sort of spending 5-10 million and / or days of training just to drop a command center? According to the description PI is something everyone can get into easily yet I can't deploy a level 1 CC and an ECU to you know... TRY it, since a CC is 1000 m3 and industrials are restricted on trial accounts. |

Have you checked local price for Primae? Goes for 2-7 mil so if you are lucky you might get one cheap and then later sell when you dont need it anymore. It needs no skills and has special cargohold for CC.
You might need to make buy order to get it cheaply. Carebear -á* -áTrader -á* -áPerfect Music-á-á* -áNever Scamming -á* -áNever Pirating |

Goes around 4 million, not exactly pocket money for a trial even if it's a reasonable investment. But because we are restricted to a single planet, the primae essentially becomes a one time use ship or the price of dropping a CC. You are then free to toss it in the garbage can because being the sought commodity it is, you sure as hell won't re-sell it in 14 days.
Now consider that for 4 mill you can either try PI - "the low entry barrier activity that is for everyone" - or from half that money you can do all of the following: fit a rifter and try some PVP plus fit a burst and try mining plus fit a probe and try exploration plus do some mission running or small scale trading in whatever ship you prefer.
Is PI doable? Certainly. But consider how many trials won't even try it because they either don't find the primae / exequror or they are turned down by the entry cost. I understand why industrials are restricted, not so much the reason why CC volume can't be lower. |

Maybe PI isn't for trial accounts then. I see no problem there, since trials have many other limitations also. Carebear -á* -áTrader -á* -áPerfect Music-á-á* -áNever Scamming -á* -áNever Pirating |

As above I think you seem to be fairly narrowed to one particular area of EVE when the trial is more aimed towards getting a general view of EVE enticing you to play.
Christ I've been playing 3+ years and I haven't even looked at PI yet. God Said "Come Forth and receive eternal life!"-á I came second and won a toaster. |

Try to look at other options in EVE then P.I.
It took me several months and 3 wardecs before I even started looking into stuff that can be done while station spinning (god I miss station spinning, stupid Incarna).
Also why should a trial go PI, in my honost opinion PI is only good once you get settled in 0.0 or Lowsec. Those hi-sec planets are worthless income due to everybody mining the planets.
But also nice that even trial get to know PI, with the old tutorials it wasn't even covered at all and untill mentioned by corp member I didn't even knew that it existed. |

As people have already mentioned the trial accounts are so you can get a general feel for the game and see if this is something you'd like to explore further or if you don't think this is the game for you. It doesn't mean that you can try every single thing in EVE on a 14 day trial account. EVE is so big most players haven't even had time, or the ability, to try every single thing you could possibly do in this game.
Regardless, I hope you are enjoying your trial and that you end up deciding to join us. Wrangler Community Team Manager

Exequror is 2.5 mil and expanders 0.5 mil each (approximately). In total, that costs much more than Primae and requires more skills also. I would not recommend PI for a trial acct. There are many products one can make. But only a select few are worth anything on the market. While it is technically possible to build up to P3 stuff on a single planet still (Robotics on Plasma planets for example) it is very inefficient.
Worse, if you pick the wrong type of planet to build on, you are screwed because the CC is not reusable. Once you drop it, it cannot be recovered. So you have to choose wisely. Moving ECUs and processors requires yet more cash, so even just choosing the wrong raw mats to extract can cost you.
If you are intent on trying PI during your trial, I would recommend you try extracting raw materials and processing them into P1 processed materials. Some of the more in demand items are Precious Metals, Toxic Metals, Water, and Electrolytes. These items are used as components for Player Owned Station (POS) fuel and have a steady demand.
But, tbh, you really need an industrial to haul this stuff from planet to station so you can sell it. So may I recommend something a little lower end like single-station trading or ammo manufacturing? Both of these can be done immediately after the tutorials with very little investment, and will return reasonable profits for a trialist. "How do you kill that which has no life?" |
