I'm getting the login screen and everything, the damed thing says it's 75883 but that's it. So, the patch currently downloading (1.3gig), is this the same version i had already patched my sisi folder to previously?
The names are the same 83913, but is it the same release as was adopted previously on SISI?

I have the last patched Premium classic version of EVE for Windows XP, and tried to autopatch to the new version, using the autopatch mechanism from the current client. The autopatch died, with the message "Failed to initialize, Error Code 3", giving me a link to the full autopatch installer. When I downloaded THAT link (WHICH CONTAINED NO STUPID VERSION SELECTION OPTIONS), I received exactly the same error.
I'm currently downloading the full "m" executable and will try again once it's complete. In the interim, I resent reading snide comments from someone, pointing to some page that the standard patching mechanism doesn't reference and implying the rest of us are a bunch of idiots for not listening to him.

in the mean time, please seed the torrent i linked on this page for the evepremiumpatch75883-84244_m.exe patch. some people are getting 12kb/s using 15mb/s net connections, so the torrent should get around that bottleneck in the nets.

The patch seems to have been applied smoothly, although I think the actual patcher could do with a bit of loving. The window doesn't always refresh properly, and it sometimes does lengthy tasks without feedback, like checking files.
These issues can give the impression that the patcher is hanging.

Client machine Win XP SP3 with Classic client. Downloaded small exe file, executed it, downloaded 2GB patch, patch installed without a problem. Started new client, got new splash screen and everything. New update notification, downloaded small file, executed it. Again 2GB patch DL starts. Canceled it and uninstalled EVE.
Now donwloading full install to start from scratch.

First patch to download was 1.3GB or something like that, took me about 15minutes to download, applied flawlessly. Second patch to download was 13MB, this one was also flawlessly applied.
Status: Cluster is not accepting connections.
So far so good!

Edited by: Terminal Insanity on 10/03/2009 13:10:29 "Client files do not match the files in the patch"
This after it completly downloads (and hides the downloaded patch somewhere other then the docs+settings folder). It finished installing to about 99% and then spat out this error. I'd really like a link to the actual large file, not just a 1.5mb downloader.
This way i can download and store the patch for all my machines, or re-apply it when it screws up.
(edit) I read up and saw the direct link woot... downloading that now...
I hope ccp gets rid of these 1.5mb installers, or at least have them tell us where it stores the temporary file so that we can save it

Yes, CCP *IS* stupid enough to forcesave the autopatches to a hardcoded directory. If you're getting an unexplained error, check to see if you have enough space for the whole thing. Also, go in there periodically and delete the old patches. It's one way to clear up HDD space in a hurry. ---- zzzz ... zzzz ... zzzz |

well can we get a link on the usual client download page ? I mean I have BITS disabled so I KNOW the autopatcher will not work. However there is no manual installer link on the client dl page ... PLEASE ADD IT !!! --- SIG --- CSM: your support is needed ! |

I manually downloaded the patch, and when I started up eve (with apocrypha splash screen) the autopatcher suddenly worked. I assumed I was dloading a fix but after 2hours of dloading I canceled the download. Then I started eve again and the autopatcher dload a tiny fix/patch. And now everything seems to be working.
So I wonder what directory is the patcher downloading to, so I can remove the excess files.

Downloaded the 2 patches (1.3GB and 13MB) just fine. My only issue/concern is that the EVE client won't list my 3870 graphics card in the ESC menu, but only my onboard graphics card. --- It have always fallen to a few to sacrifice for the good of many
