Can we can also post feedbacks? I know CCP don't support us any more but we wish to support ourself here also. Maybe sub-forum to don't mess the official support with linux related posts?

I'm using wine 1.1.14, using the manual (http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/evepremiumpatch75883-84244_m.exe) patch, and everything seems to be working fine. It is only patching to 83913, though despite being named 84224, so I'll then grab the other manual patch to take it up to 84224:
http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/evepremiumpatch83913-84244_m.exe
Also, Thanks to the devs for (a) not locking and (b) stickying this thread. We officially unsupported users appreciate that!

This was happening when Apocrypha was on Singularity. The full patcher (the evepremiumpatch###-###_m.exe) worked though.
Also remember that ATI users need to patch and add registry settings: missing models bug link and Nvidia 6x00/7x00 (maybe 5x00 too?) will need to patch in order to reduce the amount of uniform vec4 ints and bools subtracted out. (same patch ati people use, but you don't need the registry settings).

In the notes for the missing models bug, it says a fix is available for wine 1.1.16.

has anyone used and confirmed that the patch for 1.1.16 holds?

I tried to autopatch from 75833 (QR 1.0.5), but some unimplemented function in qmgr (*) prevent the autopatcher from working, exiting with "error 2".
Then I installed the full client from the download page straight to 84063, just shy of the final 84244 release.
Started it, it wants to autopatch to 84244, as expected. But the autopatcher, again fails with the same error (*). Then got the "_m" patcher 84063 --> 84244, and manually applied it. It seems working, as it doesn't want any more patching. Waiting for the server to come back up to see if it's ok.
(*) - For the curious, the exact output of WINE 1.1.16 is:
Quote: fixme:ole:CoInitializeSecurity ((nil),-1,(nil),(nil),1,3,(nil),0,(nil)) - stub! fixme:qmgr:BITS_IBackgroundCopyJob_SetPriority Not implemented

Success!
I tried to autopatch from 75833 as others here and received "Error 2"
Then I installed the full client from the download page to get it to 84063, autopatch wanted to get it to 84244, as expected. But the autopatcher, again fails with the same error. Got the patch manually and then proceeded to install it. Everything seems to work, gameplay untested, fingers crossed... :)

It would really be much easier if there would be a simple non gui patch solution with an xdelta file or so. How about SVN Patching (Subversion) ? It supports binary updates too.

Oh, yes now I see it. Some process background wine process without any usefull output had blocked my network. Now I download at full speed too :D
But it would really be much easier to have access to a list of such files through some eve-patch pages, than guessing the name of such a file and download it. Or where can one see the availability of these files ?

CCP isn't going to do that (no linux support, tho i think its clear they did test in wine a bit), someone could by getting a diff of the patched version vs old version, lest we forget this is windows and that doesn't take care of any required changes to registry keys

It should be quite easy to write a simple patching client, that "even" works on any system (wine/windows/mac, Texas Instruments Calculator chip, whatever)
Registry keys should be easily modifiable by simple text input. I really don't know why those windows guys must add magic to even the simplest operations.

Copied all the available fonts over - still no luck. Tried getting wintricks prior to all this, however (for unknown reasons) I am unable to connect to the internap.dl.sourceforge directory where it is hosted - however sourceforge is where I downloaded corefonts from without drama - so not sure whats up there.

If you can't see any Models you need to apply this patch to your wine sources and compile wine again. (Just like Ravow stated numerous times above)
Gentoo Users: you can use a portage overlay to apply the patch. (this comes also from Ravow, updated by me) * Install Layman # echo "app-portage/layman subversion" >> /etc/portage/package.use # emerge -av layman
* Modify make.conf # echo source /usr/portage/local/layman/make.conf >> /etc/make.conf
* Update Layman and list layman # layman -L
* Install gentoo-quebec overlay # layman -a gentoo-quebec
* Unmask wine ~ * "**" will install the git version (this step is optional if you have 1.1.16 unmasked already) # echo "app-emulation/wine **" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
* install wine # emerge -av wine
* it will automagically switch to the overlay version and apply the apocrypha patch |
