Hi
Downloaded the full installer for the premium client (running Vista 64), and when starting it, it unpacks the temp files to my C drive. How do I change the destination for the temp files, my C drive runs out of space :(

i had the same issue... Solution: i deleted some f the files in the temp folder, and hit the "retry" button... worked fine :)
But ya :S .. could use an option for temp-file storage :S many computers run with the C-Drive for OS only :S

It depends on how they've told the installer to use your temp folder. If they hard-coded C:\temp, then you're S.O.L. However, if they're using the TEMP or TMP variable, you might be in luck. Try this:
Right-click Computer (was called My Computer in XP, just Computer in Vista) either on your desktop or from the Start Menu, then click on Properties from the sub-menu. Click on "Advanced system settings" on the left. Click on the "Environment Variables" button near the bottom. In the top section called "User variables for <yourname>", you could try clicking the "Edit" button and changing both of those listed to D:\temp (or whatever you want to use). I would write down what's already there, however, so you can change it back later if you need to. In the bottom section called "System variables", you could find the TEMP and TMP variables and click the "Edit" button and change both of those to D:\temp (or whatever you want to use). As above, it's a good idea to write down the old value first just in case. Keep clicking OK until all the windows are closed, then try rerunning the patch.
I don't know for sure if this will work, like I said, it depends on how they use the temp directories. But it's a fairly easy thing to try to see if it helps.
Good luck!

Edited by: Gegi Wau on 10/03/2009 15:12:48 You can change the location of your temp folder.
Right-click My Computer, select Properties.
Click on the Advanced tab and then on the Environment Variables button.
Change the location of the TEMP and TMP folders.
Enjoy!
Edit: Damn, too slow.

Open cmd prompt (start > Run. type cmd hit return)
type the following set temp=PATH set tmp=PATH
where PATH is the path to the folder you want to use, such as d:\temp make sure the folder exists. it will revert back to system set valuse after a reboot.
