How come I dont have the option of doing that on the download page?
I've spent a day now jumping through hoops to get this game to work, and I am still seeing "incompatible version" on my Quantum Rise intro screen.
Seriously, why is the old client even on this site at all??

Fourth time...
1) Download Steam 2) Get 21 Day Trial off Steam 3) Download Apocrypha Client via Steam
Steam downloads files, not installers, so there's no problem with corrupt installers or incomplete downloads. ________________________________________________

That link downloads the quantum rise client. Is Quantum Rise the current version of the game? If it is, how come I get "incompatible version" when I install and run it?

I am sorry for making the stupid assumption that CCP would actually have a full version of it's own game client on its own website. I will know to rely on 3rd parties for EVE support from now on.

its probably not uploaded yet, they are probably still reeling back from the backlash of people still dling the new patch to get an upload of the nice and spiffy client up.
Or better yet they havent compiled it yet =============

I downloaded the full, up to date client last night. It took six hours as opposed for the 18 the auto-patcher needed. Installed it this morning, and everything was working.
I don't understand the OP's problem.

He's having trouble downloading the client. I proposed a way he can get the client. That solves his problem. ________________________________________________

you CAN. There's a link in my Sig. It's the full 1.9 gig Client. No download program, no torrent, just a simple file you download, then run.

Indeed it does work. I just downloaded it in 14 minutes as I'm going to do a clean reinstall to see if that will make the map actually work (colour stars etc).
Thank you for the link.

With my 3rd download I finally got it to at least patch in-game. The previous two times it would not prompt in-game to patch...so maybe this one will work.
I tried the external patch...that didn't work either.

That's what the client download page points to…
Sounds more like you guys need to kick your browsers and make them download the updated version of that page…
Are any of you running something like FasterFox, by any chance? Or are you behind a caching proxy that is giving you an old version of the page? Somehow, you're getting a very old version of the client downloads page — not the current one with the latest build on it. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in =v=… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

It didnt this morning. As of 6am mountain time, it was still pointing to the old client installer.
But glad to see they FINALLY updated it. Better late than never. If the current patch doesn't work I'll try to download that tonight. It seems like common sense to me that the link should have been there to begin with rather than waiting till the day after the patch.
Cors/Darwin: Thanks for the installer links btw.

I used both IE7 and Firefox 3 from two different computers.
But really, why is the old linked file still active at all either way? What is the point of keeping the old client available? Even if it were a browser issue, its something that could be easily fixed by simply taking the file offline.

It did when I typed that second answer… That's why I was so snarky about it — I checked the client download page and it very clearly showed the latest buid for both platforms. I'm very certain the the Mac client was the same as yesterday evening (CET) because I downloaded it just fine then, and given how slow they tend to be with giving us that one, I have no reason to believe that the Windows client wasn't linked as well (especially since people were saying they'd downloaded it just fine at the same time as I got the Mac client).

As an additional fallback, should the full version not work. (I.e. get the old version and do an in-game update). ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in =v=… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

So you didn't actually download the windows client. So maybe it wasn't a browser issue after all.
The version I downloaded from the main link was not the new client. Maybe I was just stupid for assuming that their main download link for the full build would be the current client. I'll know better next time.

Ok, I've downloaded the Full Premium Client, 84244 or whatever it is. I've done it 4 times. 2Gb each time. 8Gb OF CORRUPT DATA. I finally found an old link to the Classic, to see if I could go through the in-built updater. Nope, that was corrupt too.
I'm currently Downloading it through Steam, hopefully that will work. Unless someone else has any other good ideas?

I downloaded the fully patched client from here:

Never had a problem with it. Maxed out my downstream bandwidth. No errors or corruption. Good luck.

It was the right build number, so yes, it most likely was a browser issue. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in =v=… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

So every page on the website automatically updates for me when the content is new except the download page for the client. Uh huh.

Some of you are missing what he's asking for.. He wants to D/L the full .exe file rather than the installer. Many of us, myself included are getting corrupted files errors when using the download installer packages.

It does now, it did not at noon today. But since people posted about it they were probably pretty quick to edit it.

Ok, took me a few hours (I have a cable connection, but the download speed topped out at 250k/sec) but FINALLY got the full client installed.
To Cors (and everyone else who gave me the link), thanks. Game is running and working perfectly.
