When I try to log in it tells me Amarr is too busy and gives me a list of neighbouring systems to choose from. Picking any of those just goes to a black screen and stays there. Anyone else had the same problem before I file a petition? No signature... yet. |

Yes.
Had been stuck for about 2 hours, then got that same box. Which seems like a great idea. But needless to say it isn't fkn working.
Reboot the server already and be done with it. Am I forced to have any regret? I've become the lie, beautiful and free In my righteous own mind I adore and preach the insanity you gave to me |

Support site is timing out for me now too, typical. At least I set up a skill queue earlier. No signature... yet. |

Yeah, this sucks.
I'm no where near Jita, In Torrinos in fact, but I haven't been able to get in since 1 PM today. No meaningful announcement from CCP, no use in petitioning as they can't do anything, and the list of people affected seems to be getting longer and longer.
Not sure why CCP just doesn't kick everyone and bounce the cluster. I understand that this can happen, especially after a patch. However I would expect some kind of customer service (ROFL) annoucement from other than "we're working on it".
It's been over 9 hours for me, and I don't want to hear just "we're working on it".

/me thinks CCP needs to fire its networking engineers and half its software programmers and find new ones. :) <--- is a 20yr experienced network engineer with probably 5x more experiences than any of the guys at CCP haha.
With as many people pay to play this game, each and every one of those guys working for CCP have to own a Ferrari or two, they should be smarter than this.
Guess it all worked well...in theory... lmfao.

Probably a case of rebooting not doing any good til they know whats causing problem , cant hunt problem while its offline , theoretically , but pretty good bet they will figure it out , eventually.
I am a legit jita trader rarely even undock and the elimination of Jita local is the best idea I have heard regarding Jita in ages.
Although i do post legit offers in jita local now and then i usually dont bother as the spammers and scammers make it pointless

I think there's lag everywhere - I'm in a system 7 jumps from Jita, 120 or so in local (@2300 yesterday), and although not blocking, everything slowed. Station approach a few times over, stuff I am used to see in Jita, and mission accel gate approaches a few times over, stuff at larger distance all of a sudden, etc. I have never experienced this in this type of system... So I suppose a serverwide fix is needed, not just for Jita.

So, from what I've experienced and from the actions CCP has taken, e.g. hard pop cap on high load systems, the issue appears to be that systems under high load, even those with a dedicated node for themselves, are affecting the performance of the entire cluster.
Bad Voodoo, that.
Any update on the situation would be much appreciated.

This is normal EVE behaviour, every patch something breaks lag is all over the place and CCP scrambles their developers to figure out what is going on.
A week or so in and CCP will say we think we know what the problem is and they will push out an patch that should fix the problem, the problem will be partially resolved. A week or two later when a developer just stumbles across a few lines of code and starts his/her head on the keyboard out of pure frustration with all of them having overlooked the appearantly obvious a new patch is prepared and the problem is resolved.
So ETA for the fix, I would say about 2-3 weeks.
Most likely what is happening is that a single line of code related to an existing function of a solar system causes in rare cases a massive load of loops or lookups, this only happens rarely but put enough players on a heap and you will have this happenig with a certain regularity causing the whole thing to slow to a crawl. From other remarks on the forms it seems like lag and the so called de-sync issues happen on a relatively regular basis to single players which seems to support the idea that what ever it is that causes this is a not often occuring massive slowdown.
I would start poking at the skill queue first based on the simple fact that this interacts with one of the oldest bits of code around (the skill training system) and thus is most likely to have encountered some skeletons. Also because this one feature is used by all players and in different frequencies it will complete skills or add others to the queue etc... Scanning is not it, nor is de sleeper AI the cause as both are not a common occurence in places like Jita or during fleet battles. Other new features might or might not be it but I still doubt that that will be where the problem is going to be found.

i'd agree that this is an oversight and will be found eventually. i get lag in a low sec system with about 5 in local on approach to gates about 50% of the time which never ever happened before the patch, and I always get lag on docking into stations

That's very disheartening. Here's to hope they'll fix it by weekend.

I got rather nostalgic last night when the traffic warnings started to appear. Remember the days when this was a regular occurence?, so having this sort of thing after an update like this isn't unusal and it does irritate me intensly its not the thing that really ****s me off. What is is the fact that whilst they can harp on about this great new development on the news page, BUT AFTER 2 DAYS THERE STILL ISN'T ANY INFO ON WHAT'S HAPPENING, why do we have to plow our way though forums to find out.
BTW Suroken has just gone down as well

Too much/little?
This is a great idea except maybe just remove the ability to post autolinks in local would do it, meaning no contracts in local chat can be posted.

This is a chronic scenario with CCP. In ways that seem beyond comprehension CCP is able to recreate old problems again and again. in my 45 years in programming I have not seen how old problems, once truly fixed, can be made to reappear later, precisely as they were before. It seems that lag keeps coming back no matter what CCP does to fix it. Other bugs, such as the drone window disappearing for several seconds and then reappearing, have been fixed and then later come back exactly as they were originally. Failure to sort in several different windows has been a problem, been fixed, and come back again. Failure of lists to appear, such as the Buyers list in the Market window, worked around by scrolling or closing/reopening, have been fixed and then reappeared again.
I am favorably amazed, though, that this rather ambitious expansion has not had as many serious problems as so many previous expansions and even patches have had. Even though there are some problems, CCP seems to have done a better job of QA on this expansion than their general record in the past.

So these very good programmer shall find this bug before I login this evening.
