I don't disagree, but they have different standing requirements. When you do cosmos missions to get standing you often need to travel a lot more, then if you could just pick them in perfect order. I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous. |

Thanks for posting.
Usually most of the Cosmos Agents can be worked in order starting with level 1 Agents and working up to the higher level agents.
While working a specific level, IE, level 3 Agents, it's advised to keep watch on the Faction standings and bounce over to the other Factions when needed in order to maintain access. That's covered in the section called 'The See-Saw'.
However, the Amarr Cosmos Agents can't really be done like that due to agents of different levels being chained together. In other words, a level 1 agent may give you an item with instructions to see a level 3 agent who then gives an item with instructions to see a level 2 agent, etc.
As such, it's best to follow the Amarr Cosmos guide listed in 'The Plan' and basically complete all the chained agents from level 1 to level 3. Players can then stop and work other Factions if needed, then later go back and complete the Amarr level 4 agents.
That's how I did them. I used the Amarr Data Center Agents along with the Amarr Level 4 Epic Arc to regain and boost Faction standing in order to access the Amarr level 4 Cosmos Agents.

Thanks for asking but sadly the answer is no, you can't turn in tags to them every 3 months. Almost all of the Event Agents listed in 'The Plan' can only be completed once in the life of the character.
The only exception to that rule are the Epic Arcs which can be completed every 3 months.

I always advise that anyone thinking of doing the COSMO missions to do some research, get info on all the NPC corps involved, and grind standings with those corps first. This way you won't end up having to grind standings during your COSMOS missions, to get access to an agent. |

Estella Osoka,
Thanks for posting. That's pretty good sound advice, especially about doing research beforehand. The part about gaining Corporation standing for access definitely pertains to all of the other Event Agents.
However, Cosmos Agents are an exception.
Unfortunately Cosmos Agents only accept Faction standing (modified by Social skills) for access. They also require a higher amount of Faction standing compared to all of the other Event Agents.

Hello Everyone
I-Śm Trying to understand how the derivate calc of standings work
lets see a example
I Tooked a Caldari Mission (career agent)
It give 0,5682 of standing increase to CALDARI
and 0,1968 to Amarr
When I saw some tables, it show that Caldari missions, can improve amarr to faction 7.0 max, and the derivate gain is 5.00 (?)
Anyone can elaborate, why is 0,1968?
My Social Skill is V
Thanks!

THORAMAN,
That's a very good question which requires two answers.
The first answer deals with the percentage of standing gained from completing missions.
https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Standings_mechanics
Using your example, you gained 0.5682% with Caldari and 0.1968% with Amarr. The primary standing gain was Caldari with Derived standing gain to Amarr. The amount of standing gained from those percentages is based on the actual amount you have left from your current standing to +10.00 standing. As your standings get closer to +10.00, the actual amount of standing gained get's smaller even though the percentage amount stays the same.
The second answer deals with the derived standings graph. Keep in mind the top graph 'In-Game Inter-Faction Relationships' is read from the top down and the bottom graph 'Derived Inter-Faction Standing Modifier' is read from left to right.
http://web.archive.org/web/20130310042624/http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Standings#Standing_Relationships
Caldari has +5.00 standing towards Amarr who has +7.00 standing towards Caldari.
If you're doing missions for Caldari, it will continue gaining standings with Caldari up to +10.00 Faction standing. However, the Derived standing gains from Caldari to Amarr will only go up to +5.00 standing. After that no more Derived standing gain for Amarr from Caldari.
Now if you're doing missions for Amarr, it will continue gaining standings with Amarr up to +10.00 Faction standing. However, the derived standing gains from Amarr to Caldari will only go up to +7.00 Faction standing. After that no more Derived standing gains for Caldari from Amarr.
It take's a bit of time to get your head warped around how it works. CCP definitely doesn't like making things easy. Anyway, I hope this helps.

Sorry if this was asked before but a quick look through the posts I didnt see anyone discussing this.
If my goal is to get high unmodified caldari, and then amarr standings without getting locked out of any empire what would your approach be?
Ive been following the plan so far and from watching the rate of decrease compared to the rate of increase of others Im thinking I can get +8 at least with caldari, not sure where amarr will be before I get blocked out of an empire... or at least till I hit -5 with any empire.
So my idea was to run the plan from career, circle, data, then cosmos watching my standings as I go... if one starts to get dangerous I would run the sisters arc to correct.... if 2 get dangerous Im kinda screwed for 3 months....
then if my standings arent high enough after I get done with cosmos I figured Id run epic arcs for cald and amarr
Ive never ran cosmos or epic arcs so needless to say Im winging alot of this.
needless to say once I reach the desired levels, say 7+ amarr and as high as cald as I can I will stop running missions and if I need any corp standings Ill do it by sharing standings gain with a different character...I know Im walking a tightrope trying to do what I want
Do you think my tactic of achieving high amarr and cald without getting killed in gall and minny... any chance it would work? |

Shamash Nergal,
Thanks for posting. I think what you're asking is will 'The Plan' get you +8.00 Faction standing with Amarr and Caldari without making Gallente and Minmatar drop to -5.00 or lower standing.
Short answer, I'm not sure. The Faction Standing Repair Plan is basically just a plan which can be customized and worked to fit each players specific situation. You don't have to follow it to the letter or constantly work it if it's not needed.
Having said that, if you train up the Social skills and run all of the Amarr and Caldari Event Agents listed in 'The Plan', I see no problem getting close to or above +8.00 standing.
Of course you'll have to watch your standings with the other Factions and running the Level 1 SoE Epic Arc can definitely help keep them above -5.00 standing. The main thing to remember is don't destroy Faction ships / structures since that will definitely drop those Factions below -5.00 standing.
Anyway, hope that helps and good luck to you.

Shamash Nergal wrote:Ty!

There's a few missions but the majority of the encounter missions are against Pirate / Merc NPC's. Also most of the mission locations are in the static Cosmos Complexes. A few of the missions are in a Deadspace area which will spawn when the offer is accepted.
The trick to running Cosmos is first research the agents mission series. Usually the mission objective is to acquire a specific item. Doesn't matter how. Most items can be bought from Public Contracts and or Regional Markets. Cosmos missions are mainly seek and secure.
When you talk to an agent, don't accept the mission offer, just let it stay offered in your journal. The offer will stay for 1 week which gives you time to seek out and acquire the mission objective. After that if more time is needed you can accept it which gives you another week. That's a total of 2 weeks to actually complete the mission. The 2nd, 3rd, etc parts of the mission series will be offered automatically in the journal. Just do the same thing with them. Let the offer stay in the journal and go collect up the required item. After you get the item, accept the mission offer and collect both mission pay and bonus reward.
The guide links in 'The Plan' makes researching the agents fairly easy. Since you only need to keep Gallente and Minmatar above -5.00 standing, destroying a few of there ships shouldn't be a problem and if needed, you can always work some of their Event Agents.

Trying to Work The Plan myself. Currently my unadjusted Gallente Standings are .29 and after Connections it is 1.46. I have the Gallente Graduation Certificate (signed) in my Cargo Hold yet Avrue Auz will not give me any missions. She is listed as being Available yet I get the "Sorry, I have no jobs available for you." response when I talk to her. I am 99.9% certain I have not done any of these in the past so I am kinda stumped about what I might be doing wrong. Advice? Thanks in advance.

Vira'li,
An easy way to check if you've accessed an agent in the past is to open the agents info box and check the standings tab. It will show the agents standing towards you. If it's 0.00 (neutral) then you haven't accessed the agent. Any other amount shown, either positive or negative, means you've accessed that agent in the past.
Since Avrue Auz is a level 1 agent, standing for access isn't a problem. While doing those missions you will be introduced to another agent - Mamo Guerre - who's mission series must be completed first to finish the mission series for Avrue Auz. You can check info on Mamo Guerre standing towards you as well for verification.
Having said that, sometimes agents tend to be lazy (bugged) and a GM can usually get them working again.
Right now your best option is to file a Support Ticket (petition) in game asap and hopefully a GM can fix the problem.
Hope that helps and good luck.

As I'm currently living in curse, I figured that hell, why not try to get my angel/domination/serpentis standings up; I have a station for each in my system, with L1 agents. However reading through "the plan", appears to me that with my horrible ratings (-7.61 on serpentis) there's no way to recover it. I ran the epic arc, and got my dominations to a reasonable level, but is my serpentis rating unrecoverable? |

Audemed,
Thanks for posting that question.
Training Diplomacy level 5 will raise a -10.00 standing to -6.00 standing. Also don't forget to train up Social which will increase the amount of standing gained for completing missions. Criminal Connections will increase the current positive Pirate standing which will help gain access to higher level agents much faster.
As for actually gaining Pirate Faction standings, you can either grind level 1 missions + Storyline for Serpentis or continue running missions for Angel to gain derived standing gains towards Serpentis. On that note there's also Angel Cosmos Agents that will help raise Serpentis Faction with derived standing increase.
Eventually you'll get Serpentis Faction up above -2.00 standing to access their higher level agents.
Good luck to you.

How long does it take to run "the plan"? Lets assume neutral starting standings, and wanting to get to 7+ (free reprocessing, high-sec pos).
Weeks? Months? Half a year?
Also, i've read some old wiki somewhere that mentioned standings degrade over time. Is that true? |

Also, i've read some old wiki somewhere that mentioned standings degrade over time. Is that true? There are too many variables to calculate time. But it doesn't take long, with Social 5 and Connections 5, starting with no base standings (but w/ Connections 5 that's 2.0 to start with all corporations), I went from 2.0 to 5.20 with 33 missions and 2 storylines. Standings gains are diminishing returns, meaning the closer you get to 10, the harder it is to raise the standings.
They do not "degrade" unless you get negative standings from some other source (e.g., you run a storyline for an opposing faction). |

A lot depends on how many hours per log in session you do.
Then you gotta take into account your skill level, type of ship and equipment used, time spent researching info on various Event Agents before interaction, extra time spent due to having hostile players in system, etc.
There's just way too many variables to give an accurate time estimate for getting up above +7.00 standing with the 4 main Empire Factions.
However I will say this. Over the years 'The Plan' has been proven time and time again by the player base to be the quickest and easiest way to build up Faction standing.

Yes, Social level 5 to gain max standing increase for completing missions would be considered the 'Must Have' skill..
However, I feel Connections level 5 is just as important since it raises your current positive standing which actually reduces the amount of time spent grinding missions in order to reach your standing amount goal.
I hope you understand what I mean. Thanks for posting and good luck to you.

Miss Negotiatrix,
If the standing amount goal is small, IE, just need to raise the positive standing amount a little bit for access, then training a couple levels of Connections to achieve it would be the better route to go since that wouldn't incur any derived standings.
As for the Diplomacy skill, that's most definitely the number one skill to train for dealing with negative standings. Basically it's like a big jump-start towards gaining positive standings.
The main thing to remember is 'The Plan' can be customized to fit your specific situation. You don't have to follow it step by step.
For example = If you just need a couple of quick injections of positive standing gain, then just complete the Data Center 'Cert' missions followed with a couple of 'Tag' missions if needed.
Hope this helps.
