This new update brings a sad day for me, I can't afford to splash out a good ú1800 on a new top of the range iMac which would stand a chance at making the premium graphics on the Mac playable.
For the record I'm on a 20" 2.66Ghz iMac with 2Gb RAM and a 2600HD - The game is set to low (for everything) and in the lowest resolution - it looks ugly... what is worse though is I only get 20-25FPS flying about and 8-15 in combat. Woeful.
Unless a premium light comes out for the iMac... I'm going to have to stop playing this game

You should check out the following thread
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1018869
The bulk of the problems with the low FPS in the mac client on iMac and other Macs that have any of the ATI graphics cards can be resolved by making a few tweaks to the config that cider uses to disable some troublesome features of the underlying cider environment which don't seem to be a problem for machines with Nvidia based graphics cards.

Sorry, but that *is* the light premium client, everything set to low and or off.
Just try those suggested tweaks. It may help.

The thread mentioned above now has some new tweaks for you to try. Read the WHOLE thread though to understand what you will be changing and take a backup of the config file FIRST.
