Was handed this URL at the meet last night, would be great if we could make London meets a regular thing!

I have never been to an eve meet up but this definitely intrigues me. I would have thought a regular London meet would have been thought of before but maybe not, anyway I might show my face and see what it's all about. |

After organising well over a dozen of these things with the help of a corp mate, I can safely say that organising these monthly wouldn't pull in the crowds that semi-regular meets do.
The problem is that most of the people who attend come from far outside London, and can't afford to make a monthly trip. We've had guys fly in from the States, Canada, Iceland, Scandinavia and Aus for the ones that we've hosted in London. People from the opposite end of the UK, as well as people from abroad make up a BIG percentage of the people who attend these meets.
You'd end up with monthly meets that would pull in perhaps 20-30 people, whom were all UK based and had the means to travel themselves or were local to London.
It's far better off sticking with 2-4 meets a year, maximum one every quarter or so like we have right now, to make sure that there's a high level of attendance and a better atmosphere with more people mixing and drinking.

Hey Verone, that is very kind of you to invite me to your meet in September. I am definitely considering it. As I have never been to one, what usually happens? |

Alcohol.
Lots of it.
It's really obvious who the EVE people are. Talk to a random person. The knack is finding the random EVE player who has their wallet open who hasn't finished ordering the round yet. |
