This is driving me nuts, so please pardon my nub-ness.
On the probe scanner map: - left-click-drag moves probes - right-click-drag moves map about current center probe - <insert magic-click-and-drag-combo here> centers the map on a different probe
So the magic combo is?
I keep hitting it by accident. Never repeatable. This often screws-up the point-of-view to where I have to recall all the probes, close the map, and start again.
Any other tips also appreciated.

Click ze text next to a probe, the stuff that tells you about the probe.

If you click on a celestial object (star etc) it will center the screen on that object. To do the same with a probe, you need to click the text that shows the name of the probe rather than the probe itself

Is there a way to quickly disable the display of the probe names? How about the site labels so you don't have to contend with hits hiding under a dozen labels near the center of the system?

I don't understand your problem... - left click in space and drag around to swing your view around whatever the center point currently is. - right click in space and drag around to shift your center point to any spot in the solar system. - profit?
what's not working for you? |

How-to answered above, but the problem is: - if you are say at the far left of the map and scanning on the right - launch a new probe so it appears at your ship - go to move the probe and click on the wrong thing, the map centers on your ship - you can't see around the probes anymore, as the camera is centered near your ship.

If you have this problem just scroll all the way out so you can see all of your probes or spin the camera until you see them and just click the the probe test probe (idle) 4.0 au and the camera will make that clicked probe center of the camera view.
