When I am in combat (mission, ratting, PvP, etc) and I am being fired upon and returning fire with turrets, my iMac makes a poping noise from the speakers and the turret fire goes silent. I still get the music to an extent and other ambient noises. This only started happening with Apocrypha.
Are any of the other Mac users experiencing this?
Thanks in advance!

I noticed for me, that after Apocrypha that when I shield boost - that is the only sound I here. All of the turret sounds and other combat sounds turn off except my shield boost.

I am hearing the audio pop everytime i do voice in a channel.
It seems it pops and usually shortly thereafter my eve client crashes.
3 times now i have returned to the games after a crash to find my self in a pod, or even worse, in a station Not in a pod.

I got the popping last night while playing. Didn't seem to be only voice related. I was flying a domi, so I don't think it was just turret related. (I did have one turret for aggro)

I often get a popping sound coming from my right speaker, but only when I've got audio turned on and I'm running two clients at once. I don't think I've ever experienced while using only one client. Someone in the OS X channel suggested that it might have something to do with the Mac's fan, as he had issues with his MacBook (?).
I'm running the new 15" MBP w/ 4GB RAM in case you're wondering.

Yes I get this too, HOWEVER, I also get it under windows vista.. So it's not just a mac issue, but a client issue in general..

I don't get it at all on my Vista machine at work. I'm glad to hear that it's not specific to the Mac in any event.
I'm also glad to hear that it's not just my machine. The Mac has already been in for warranty repair once...

I have some soundproblems to....
1. The little "plop" came on some battles 2. If i switch to the map overview and navigate to jumpgates, after a few seconds one speaker of my iMac switch off. If i close the map (f10 again) the sound comes back with a new "plop" 42... |

Pops: same thing here - the pops seem to be linked to the L/R panning protocol
Whilst sitting near a jump-gate - the "world" noise ( a massive white-noise) is being boosted up to a max (limiter?!?)
The salvager I sound is beginning with a nasty crackling noise.
The hardeners are very loud in ratio to the other module samples
Overall the audio samples have a severe quality problem in normalization of levels and editing.
PS: Pls get in touch CCP if u need an (audioeditors ) hand in this field.

happens to me too - a very loud "POP" which can be a nightmare when using headphones . It's since apocrypha and it's on 2 different machines, different soundcards, both Windows XP. One's a Dell D630 with on-board sound, the other is a creative audigy. Any clues? bugfix soon(TM)? Thanks Kbob

I get this too, I'm on a macbook pro. For some reason it ONLY happens when I enter the map screen. If I'm there for more then 15 seconds, it pops and I lose sound. Exiting the map screen fixes it. I filed a bug report and the response was that they were aware of it, so I'm guessing they're working on fixing it.

I play on a new iMac 20 and whenever I enter the map screen there is a plop and the overall volume drops by half or even more. The sound volume only return to normal (encompanied by a plop again) when I'm in space and move the camera.
My second sound issue is that from time to time the combat sounds (turret, laser, explosions etc) vanish (without plop) at the start of battles. Ambient sound remains unchanged. After 1 minute or so sound returns to normal though.
