It has obviously outlasted WOW and is still growing.

Came here to say this.
UO (the original graphical MMO) is still running, and probably won't be shutting down anytime soon. TEST Alliance BEST Alliance |

Wow and EVE are still strong, so neither has "out lasted" the other.
Also, Runescape was released in 2001, so yeah. Everquest is also still going from 1999. Ultima online from 1997 is also still alive.
The Realm Online from 1995 is still claimed to be active; not sure if it's actually alive, or just has die hard fans hosting it themselves. |

You could certainly make the case that it's the longest MMO still growing in subscriber base. Occasionally plays sober |

Meridian 59 is still running. That wins by far. And I agree with the others, I miss the old UO so much. Before AOS was my time to shine to the Atlantic shard. |

I used to play one called Hyperiums, still kicking around I believe. Came out in 2001, not anything to interesting about it except that it came up with the PLEX idea before CCP (you used to buy credits for your account, 1 credit = 3months sub, credits could be traded on the open market) ^^ There should be a rather awesome pic here |

Indeed, trolls invited. And unless this thread has issues with the rules, you might as well stfu, because you can't tell him what to do ...
On topic ... is the comparison even fair ? EvE is really different to all the other games ... Inappropriate signature removed. Spitfire |

I believe the longest would be Meridian 59 (1996), although Ultima Online (1997), Everquest 1 (1999) and Asheron's Call (1999) would be considered close contenders. |

The first 3-D MMO.
The first "graphical" MMO was Neverwinter Nights on AoL. Way back in '91. |
