Is it in the works to have the game support dual monitors?
If not, i'd like to propose the following idea:
I'd like to have a daul windowed mode, if possible, so that on the right screen i can see my glorious ship and the beatiful graphics that is eve space flight, and then on the left screen, have all my windows (chat, cargo, drones, overview) all that stuff. But keep the UI for the ship on the right screen.
Would make playing the game that much more enjoyable.
Is this a planned feature for the future?
Thoughts, ideas, all welcome.

Oh come on...
The huge thread asking for multiple monitor support is still on the front page! Are you trying to tell me you didn't even look at the posts on the front page before posting?

usually ccp implies they cannot waste ressources on something signifcant unless like a significant amount of subscribers need it, and I don't think we're there yet, most still only have 1 screen.

And most will never want dual monitors. They are bad for usability as long as all the applications are aware of that. It's the middle between the two that always causes problems (ie. popups at exact middle, on both monitors etc)...
That's what widescreen monitors are for anyways, get a proper 24" panel and smile happily.

Edited by: Camilo Cienfuegos on 20/03/2009 22:01:29 Still very limiting using a 24" panel. The best of breed will still only hit around two thousand horizontal pixels: My current setup (using SoftTH) spans to over five thousand pixels, and even then I could probably use more screen real estate to play Eve.
Bottom line: Saying "I don't need it" doesn't actually counter the proposal in any way, shape or form. The huge dual monitor thread linked in this very thread is evidence that multiple monitors are something that a significant number of the member base would be interested in, and if you actually tried using SoftTH on three monitors for example, you'd soon understand what a wonderful thing multiple monitors and Eve could be.
As for "the exact middle", you realise that there's no pixel gap between multiple monitors unless you tell there to be one? Otherwise, things "jump" over the borders of the screens. That's why multiple monitor setups are best done using very narrowly bordered screens, and with the screens overlapping each other slightly. -
