This is not a whine thread thread about the under usefulness of a Black Ops. This is just an inquiry to whether or not this is an intentional game mechanic.
When I use a Force Recon to cyno for my black ops in a gang, I open a portal. I let the other people through, and, granted there are some slower people so not everyone is going to make it in in ten seconds. The covert cyno lasts 30 seconds, the bridge lasts 20. Assuming it takes 5 seconds to open the portal that leaves me 5 seconds after the portal goes down to jump. When the cyno goes down during a jump, the system icons disappear but the background stays. The client has recognized that I have left the starting system and am now in the destination system but will not load. I have let it sit for several minutes at a time on this stage, even tried opening a new cyno and jumping to it again but since my client recognizes I am in the same system it is not a valid target. Upon logging though, my ship suddenly appears in the destination system and e-warps off.
So my question is this: When a cyno is lit does it have to stay open for the duration of the entire jump as opposed to just being open for the initiation of the jump itself? And what I encounter a long loading time and the cyno goes out?

I think the simplest workaround for that is to have the covert cyno on auto-repeat, but it seems that the new random cycle time bug is effecting that too so you can't count on not losing the beacon mid jump after you figure in who knows how much lag.
