Other than that great dev blog and of course thanks for the free stuff in advance.
I'm torn between "Refine Your Skills" (good value and I didn't really train those skills) and "A Paxist Treasure" (ooohhh rare and shiny thing that might be worth something in a while).
Probably going to go with "Refine Your Skills" seeing as it has the greatest short term value.
Once again thanks for the free stuff in advance
Now, about that tech nerf |

I want to start this by saying I have a lot of respect for everyone at CCP for their hard work and I'm only pointing out this contradiction to show you a blind spot in your current development strategy.
In the same post where you say its us players - the things we do and our stories is what makes eve, you show a video of stimulating in-game footage that excite people about this game that is impossible for any of us to create at the same level while doing these amazing things
I suggestion you seriously consider implementing a session recording / replay studio (https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=102696&find=unread) for us to create visually stimulating reports of our adventures to show our friends. To an outsider most of the videos that I can show means nothing to my friends. They think the emotion you get from this game is like other games, the graphics and the scripted story and the view of how we all play is a huge turn off.
At least consider having a multi-threaded bitmap/avi export feature that exports what we see (maybe minus our UI) at a steady frame/quality rate as were playing as a band-aid/baby step
I think it's obvious you will see a huge increase in new customers as soon as our higher quality videos hit the internet ONLY THE HARD.-á ONLY THE STRONG. |

This is about my response, too. I mean, 'free cruisers for newbies' is all well and good, but better than half of those ships just suck out loud... |

Those gifts suck t1 crusiers, skill books and cheap implants. Can you add the option for a remap? Give us the CA-1 + CA-2 implants. Its good that we have choice but give us some good items to choose. |

I would have loved to have seen a return of the Neural Remap to the gift list. Nothing in EVE is more valuable than time. Saving it on training certain skills would be priceless.
Please consider adding the Neural Remap.

So you guys do realize there are people who have been here for quite a number of years right? 9 years deep and it's cruisers and skill books. You really need to do something for vets for a change. The advantage of a bad memory is that one can enjoy the same good things for the first time several times.

The Pax book sounds interesting, will keep an eye out.
As for the mining crystals, is Mercoxit on the list? Most give out the 'order' as Merx, Ark, Bist, Crok, . . . Veld, so seems like its missing.
[Edit] And thank you for including them on the list. I may have come here from Myst Online, but that does not make me any less bloodthirsty than the average Eve player.
Just more subtle.

I agree. I remember another game, where you got a Founder title for you char. This Title came/comes with a tocken ingame. This tocken than takes a itemslot in your charactor inventory, be more precisly in your mission-bag (which is already a little bit small). It means: When you get this Foundertitel, you will loss one free slot in your missionbag. And on top of it you cannt trash it, you can sell it neither. You cannt send it to an old, because stuff form the missionbag can be send to other characters. So Im happy about the gifts, because it could be, much much much worse.
So all fly save and enjoy your free stuff. |

Ok, so why are there now fewer options and NO REMAP!
As a 2003 bittervet, a remap is the only thing semi useful. The current list is just a load of junk imo. I've trashed stuff more expensive than any of the items on the list just to tidy my assets up |

The gifts are no real use to me on any account/character, so I'll hold onto them for a while and pass them on to some newbie who hasn't got them later in the year. Will save them a few iskies anyway.
Bit of a disappointing selection but its not like you're obliged to even redeem anything, free stuff but not very useful or interesting.
I started playing Eve on May 22 2003. Seems like a hell of a long time ago now :) |

Oh my... http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Ammatar_Mandate
Quote: The Ammatars are part of the Amarr Empire, but are of Minmatar origin. During the time the Amarrians occupied the Minmatar home worlds one of the Minmatar tribes, the Nefantars, collaborated heavily with the Amarrians. The Nefantars fled Minmatar space during the Minmatar Rebellion and the Amarr Emperor set them up in Amarr controlled areas close to Minmatar space. Soon everyone had started calling them Ammatars. Today, the Ammatars enjoy a semi-autonomy in their own space and are still embroiled in war with their former Minmatar brethren.
The term Ammatar was actually first used by the Gallenteans to distinguish between the two groups. Out of convenience even the Ammatars themselves started using it, stating that, with the help of the Amarrians, theyGÇÖve progressed beyond the old social structure of the Minmatar tribes. Indeed, the Ammatars have very deliberately abolished many age-old traditions of the Minmatar tribal society and embraced some Amarrian ones instead.
Spoilers: It was revealed in The Empyrean Age that the Ammatars are not as they appear. Consulate Governor Ana Utulf revealed in a public statement thus: "History records that we - the Nefantar - betrayed the Minmatar tribes centuries ago to appease our Amarrian overlords. That is what the emperors what you to believe. But the truth is this: your ancestors collaborated with the Amarr to protect what remained of the Starkmanir tribe. The only way to save them from Paladin butchers was to take them in as slaves. This desperate act, designed by the Elders, was to preserve the whole of what we really are."
This knowledge was, apparently, a secret held by only a select few.
You can tell me what is and isn't Truth when you pry the tinfoil from my cold, lifeless head.
