I am a bit torn as to which ship to use for level 4. I can finish any mission in a stock Raven, but it's a bit slow sometimes. For cruiser-heavy or missions against Blood Raiders I use a passive Drake.
However, the choice I would like to make is between three ships; CNR, Golem or Kronos - I can fly any of them and have roughly equal missile and hybrid skills, ditto shields and armour.
Generally speaking, which of these ships is best for missions? I fly mostly for Fed Navy; so Angels, Serpentis and rogue drones are probably the most common opponents.
I've been in this game a long time, and I never thought that I'd be saying this, but the CNR is the economy option. Or maybe not, because I already have the Kronos.
Any thoughts, anyone?

Don't know a great deal about those ships, but here's a little snippet on CNR vs Golem:

Edited by: ginlaan on 28/03/2009 13:07:34 Kronos hands down. Set it up with a couple salvagers and tractor beams for salvage to take advantage of the bonus. Aside from that the ships rip through level 4's with relative ease allowing you to salvage while killing. This is very good ship as well for ruining the good clean ninja fun of the loser's that steal salvage.

GOLEM for sure. Eats everything in its path and salvages the wrecks for desert. If you had some extra isk get a full set of crystal implants, so you can put all damage mods in ur lows. Kill a BS in two or three volleys

Bitter much? Considering that the salvage belongs NOT to you either, but rather the npc that you so bravely fight against, sir carebear, that makes you a loser thief as well. See for yourself

IMHO the Golem.
Same missile advantages the CNR has, better explosion velocity means you can use torps for quicker missioning, tractor bonus means quicker cluming/salvage during missions, native tanki is strong enough for some EWAR (target painters) as well as tank + lotsa damage mods.
Kronos is good, kin/therm damage only would limit you against Angels (all rail ships have this issue vs. Angels - their weakness is explosive) so you'd mission slower vs Angels.
CNR you're already familiar with; it vs a Marauder is comparing a Ford to a BMW - they both get you from place to place - the BMW would be more comfortable, and maybe a bit faster.
That's my opinion anyway - YMMV.

Ninjas shouldn't be crying on the forums. You should speak to your alliance members to see if you can get your tears extracted in a less public place.

Golem, 4 cruise missile / torpedo slots with 100% damage bonus that is 8 high slots, room for tractors and salvager's and you are free to pick damage type per mission. Some missions the Kronos might out perform the Golem but on the whole the Golem due to the damage type advantage will out perform the Kronos.
A CNR is nothing more then a Raven with a little extra damage output but the bigger cargo hold of the Marauders make them far better for missions then the CNR.
If you already have the Kronos, get a Golem to complement it together they will give you the best bang for your buck, missions where the Kronos damage is useful it will out perform the Golem, missions where you need different damage type(s) bring the Golem. ------------------------------------------- Should you disagree with me, well I guess that is because I disagree with you. If you have a problem with that please feel free not to tell me. |

Haha ninja looter/salvagers get off on robbing "carebears" of fun and ****ing them off but if someone tries to rob the "thieves" of their fun they have no right as that salvage belongs to everyone .
