Been running level 4 missions for a while now and considering upgrading my raven to a CNR. How much faster will it run missions? Also whats keeping me from getting one is my fear of being suicide ganked for my non existant faction gear since I cant get it fully insured and its a big investment for my meager wallet. How often do you get suicide ganked?

Edited by: Hyveres on 28/03/2009 22:56:25 Well the basic difference between a CNR and a raven is 30% more shields and 1 extra launcher.
It tends to cut down missiontimes by a only a few percent but it feels safer. Tbh there is some wierd math going on that effectivly makes the CNR exponantially better the lower your SP is , as you get more skills the difference between the 2 ships closes but CNR allows a relativly low SP toon(2,5-3m) that has gone straight for battleships to clean any L4 mission as long as he is paying attention , avoids full room aggro and warp out when it becomes too hot in there.
At high SP the added damage from better missileskills along with shield & cap skills means the only real difference from a missionrunner PoV is the extra turretslot and while it on paper is a 13% increase missile mechanics and the tendency to group missiles means it only has a real impact in situations where you get a full volley less to pop a ship than you would otherwise(if 6 or 7 missiles per salvo still equals 4 salvoes to pop and you shoot grouped there is no difference). Edited by: GGjita on 29/03/2009 07:20:57 If the only reason you are not gonna get a CNR is because you are scared of suicide ganks then I would get one. Until your ship gets to be worth 3 billion or more it isn't even an option because it wouldn't be worth it to the gankers.
In terms of mission completion times you should finish about 20% faster.
Also the ship i run is worth about 1.5 bil and people havn't even tried gank me.

It is marginally better. What makes it stand further out is the fact that people fit faction and officer mods on it, which would make a regular BS awesome as well. --------------

it's one launcher more and +50% shields (increase in armor/structure is equal, but of less interest). i was skeptical to CNR performance, but i changed my mind. dps is at least 17% better (7/6), and, with decent skills, shields can passively hold for a good while. since tank is better, more damage mods can be fitted, pushing dps even higher.
price is somewhat high, but worth it.

for 350mil it is worth it
back when I was wondering this it was 700mil+ for a cnr, concord has been buffed 3 or 4 (maybe more) times since then
now I'm thinking of buying one for pvp

Isnt the jita contracts closing on 240m these days so 300-320 m with rigs & T2 fit. Can ofcourse faction/deadspace fit it if thats the way the cookie crumbles. I was looking when I posted and 350 is about where they were, few 347-349, and well now there is a 325 in dodixie.

Uhm, no that's some pretty terrible advice you're giving, and your ship loadouts are dismal at best. How did you determine those to be the best anyway like you claim?
