and the mega pulse use less activation costs than the mega beams.
mega pulse barely use any activation power compared to the stronger lasers.
yes mega pulse do less damage at range than others but also provide you with more energy for your other devices such as armor repairers. running the armor repairers is what drains your cap on a mega pulse set up.
Hint hint......train your repairer skill to 5........it's worth it and almost a must for amarr ship armor tanking

I realize this but he was talking about the Mega Pulse gaining him more cap for deffense which I don't believe is the case.

mhhh im too lazy to do math about this things, but my feeling says me close range guns take slightly more cap as thy do more damage Wanna fly with me?

large lasers on lvl3, flown scorps with tachs back then
hey as i said, its only my feeling, all i know for sure is that pulses need something about 18 on my dominix, the megabeams need 60 i think and the thachs 90,
with decent skills megabeams need about 30-25, and tachs 45-35
im going more after my feelings after testing it on chaos then doing the math about suchs things Wanna fly with me?

I realize it's something of a sore topic to some folks (and let's be real: Most will only do Small or Mediums), but the new tech 2 beam weapons coming out offer a good amount of damage, and the advanced lenses look pretty nifty so far. In fact, so do the hybrid charges.
But any big ol pulse laser that can mount beams doing heavy explosive damage is okay by me! I look forward to the frigate variations.
