Hello people, i bought EVE almost 2 days ago and i feel like im getting nowhere. I met somebody that first killed me and because of that i lost my ship and that wasnt realy nice but lateron he contacted me and ended up helping me out but he plays this game since 2005 and the way he explains things to me on what to do is just way to complicated. Oke so firstoff i started just mining a little and selling the ore after my ship was full, but since people tell me thats a very nooby way to make money i stopped haha. So this guy is helping me in combat and i kinda like it even though i have no idea where to kill npc's outside of missions, and its very hard since i dont know how to control my ship that well yet but i will learn that later. So where do i go from here? i realy like mining but he told me i will need 2 accounts to mine efficiantly and that mining on just this account isnt realy worth it, is that true?
I joined a corperation but they are to busy themselfs to realy help me out, so can anybody tell me what i need to do now to make progress? Thankyou |

No im not trolling. I made a trial account back in december and rushed through the tutorials but due to my computer being broken and a not so nice family situation i forgot about eve and moved on, now 2 days ago i remembered i made a trial account and i decided to buy the game :) But now im just lost and i realy have no idea what to do.

Hahaha yeah that is true xD. One question though, when i created this character i chose Gallente - Gallente - Miner. if you know what im talking about, like when you create your character and you choose the background and bloodline etc. Does this have any impact on my character itself? like if i go combat does that mean im weaker because my bloodline is miner? |

No, race etcetera has zero impact on the game. You can fly everything and do everyhting as well as anyone else.
Don't worry about making mistakes in the beginning, but stay out of lowsec untill you understand the game a little bit and you should be ok. FIRE FRIENDSHIP TORPEDOES ! Louis's epic skill guide v1.1 |

If your corp is too busy to show you around the game and to teach you things, then you need to find a different corporation. Look for a "newbie-friendly" corporation. Rifterlings - Small gang lowsec combat corp specializing in frigates and cruisers (all races, not just Rifters!). US Timezone veterans and newbies alike are welcome to join. Come chat in the "we fly rifters" in-game channel. Free fitted frigates for members! |

The nice part about eve is if you ar patient enough you can learn to play all aspects of the game. The efficiency is the issue most of the time. Also just because you are part of a corp does not limit who you can fly with or who you can be friends with. Just a heads up currently hulkaggedon is going on (a player run event where people kill and bank mining ships). Good luck getting the plex. If you need any question or help with anything feel free to private convo or mail me I like helping inexperienced players. |

Klaas Kool wrote:Btw can i be a miner AND a fighter/combat or will that cause problems? Noticed that this was sort of left unanswered, so figured I would answer it for you.
There is absolutely nothing preventing you from doing everything in EVE with the same character. I have traded, explored, mined (albeit very briefly) ratted/missioned, done PI (Planetary stuff), and pvp'd all on my one character. The only difference with your race and bloodline is the slightly different starting skills. This doesn't really matter that much anyway, but if you are setting up a character to do only 1 specific task, you can see where it might help to start with some mining skills for a miner.
On another note, if you have any questions or just want to chat, feel free to hit me up ingame either via pm or mail. |

Mining is good thing to start but remember that without high end equipment and skills it really is a waste of time (ISK wise) once you start having enough skills for making money with other stuff. Anyway most important thing to keep an eye on as a newbie is the security status of the system you're entering, especially when getting a route from the autopilot (stay away from the red !). I could go on and on about politics and life involving living in low and null but for now stay in high sec where it's relatively safe.
A for getting a little seed money; do the tutorials they net you some free skills and extra ships (my alt has 2 destroyers, 4 frigates and 2 industrials from tutorials), once you have done all the tutorials and have some more combat skills head to Sister Alitura in Arnon for newbie epic arch which is a long mission chain that nets you a several millions of ISK once complited. |
