Hey I was looking at the Orca and It dawned on me how cool it would be to have a ship you could fly to any system fill it up with POS moduals and fuel with a built in ship\hanger bay.
now the catch would be for the moduals and hangers to be used you need to anchor the ship and have fuel to run as a Med Control tower with small tower specs in regaurds to power grid and cpu(only availabe when anchored) Unanchored Shields would be 2000 Unanchored Armor would be 800
since the ships kinda for worm hole space Mass would be only 50,000,000 kg + the size of your cargo\ships docked up\drones carried
In ship mode (unanchored) power grid would be 2000 cpu 700 Corporate Hangar Capacity would be 45000 m3 while anchored 5000 m3 when not (its not a carrier after all) Drone Bay would 100m3 100bit\sec
Ship would have 1 high slot turret and 1 high utility slot 8 mid slots and 8 low slots after all it is a mobile space station and needs them slots for defensce since it wont get that 99% resistence bonus as it would be a T1 resists (dont want a god ship after all)
Well I think thats a good start to my Idea what you all think :)

Oh and It would be in the capital ship class for skills possibly jump drive powered? Any ideas?

It was something that was sort of asked for quite a bit back during the Rorqual's development. The game does lack a sort of nomadic quality to it that a mobile base such as this would support. However, I'm pretty sure this isn't much different than just packing a small tower into an Orca, and anchoring it where you end up. The only difference being the necessity for a moon (which, CCP has hinted at possibly removing, especially now with the advancements in the scanning system).

i would love to see this. ive often imagined a system where one could load POS modules on a ship.
2000, 800 is a little pathetically weak though, unless you make the ship very cheap, which is also a possibility.
make the ship worth about 10mil, and then the majority of the cost is the modules.
maybe? maybe not?
anyway, the idea itself is a good one.
small corps currently cant compete in 0.0. having a minor base that can support perhaps 3-5 players and is highly mobile but not astronomically tough (a dedicated offensive with a BS fleet of perhaps 10 players should pose a noteworthy risk) would open up a jar of delicious gameplay i would love to try.

2000\800 is for traveling purposes

the full version to this idea was to have a ship you could anchor that couldnt be stolen because once its anchored its treated just like a pos, the owner can dock his ship and with the password turn it back to a ship and move to the next exploration site/system. for long term exploration and or nomadic corperations.
