i downloaded the xml and liked it, but is there a way you could put in a cargo size calc? i would like to be able to see how much income a full load of a particular ore would bring me
also and this is a small also, add a ranking list of best ore per load to worst ore per load.
but everything else looks great

As a miner and not an industrialist this is almost exactly what I was looking for. If you could add a calculation for the value of ore per cubic meter to the Ore Data tab that would make it exactly what I was looking for. That would make it easy to determine which ore to mine first.
If you add the reverse calculator could you have it determine the cubic meters of ore as well? Knowing the cubic meters of ore is very useful since all of the strip miner yields are based on cubic meters per cycle. With that information I can do some estimating on the number of man hours it will take to harvest the minerals.
I downloaded the 2003 version and it works just fine in Open Office 3.0.1. Excellent work!

I can put in the M3 it would take to hold the amount of Ore you specify (totals at the bottom) easily enough, however the ranking list may be a bit above me, but I'll look in to it.

Good to know the 2003 version works in Open Office 3.0.1 I'll add it to the first entry.
The value of Ore per M3 eh. Weird but then I haven't finished my first coffee after finishing work yet so most things are weird at the moment.
Would you find as useful the M3 per BATCH as there's already the value per Batch done on the Ore Data Page.
Mineral/Ore Size (and batch to refine size, just where the heck IS that stored?) is the one thing I didn't import when I was creating the queries in Access.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll look in to what I can do and release it asap.
I only use it to give me the figures on what has already been mined based on semi-current mineral prices, it wasn't intended to be a crystal ball for miners :D
But who am I to dictate how the spreadsheet is used as long as it works and people are using it?

For a miner a lot of things revolve around m3; yield from mining lasers are in m3, cargo capacity of your mining barge is m3, jet can capacity is m3, industrial hauling capacity is m3. Once the ore is in a station then it is tracked by unit until it is refined. After the ore is refined you still need to know how many m3 of space the minerals take up so you can figure the hauling capacity you need to transport it to market. Since each unit of the minerals take up the same amount of space it is fairly straight forward to deal with, the ores are not so consistent in size. Most of the work for the miner is in getting the ore out of the roids and into a station for refining.
Here is an excellent example of an online ore chart from Grismar that may help you visualize why the value per m3 of ore is useful to a miner: http://grismar.net/eve/ore/index.php
If you enter the current mineral values you can see in the far right column the value per m3 for each ore. With those numbers in hand you can determine which ores you should mine first. Since I can mine better than 1700 m3 per minute, a few isk per m3 difference adds up fast. Knowing the isk value per m3 of ore enables me too mine the most valuable ore first. Handy information to have.
Knowing the m3 per batch is not that useful to me. Once the ore is mined I can input the number of units I have and get the value from your spreadsheet nicely.
One advantage to your spreadsheet over the online one is that it keeps the most recent values for the minerals so you don't need to enter them each time.
My views reflect the fact that I mine and sell the minerals and not that I use them for manufacturing. YMMV

It's very early so I'm not firing on all cylinders, if I can get the formulae it will be done, if you can provide the formulae to calculate Ore price per 1m3 based on the refined minerals it can be turned into and how big the batch has to be.

Formulas for isk per m3 of ore
formula with 1 mineral refined from ore: (m*p) / (b*v) = isk per m3
formula with 2 minerals refined from ore: ((m1*p) + (m2*p)) / (b*v) = isk per m3
formula with 3 minerals refined from ore: ((m1*p) + (m2*p) + (m3*p)) / (b*v) = isk per m3
formula with 4 minerals refined from ore: ((m1*p) + (m2*p) + (m3*p) + (m4*p)) / (b*v) = isk per m3
formula with 5 minerals refined from ore: ((m1*p) + (m2*p) + (m3*p) + (m4*p) + (m5*p)) / (b*v) = isk per m3
m1, m2, m3, m4, m5 = number of units of mineral yielded from refining batch p = isk value of 1 unit of mineral b = number of units of ore per refine batch v = volume of 1 unit of ore in m3
Example for Scordite:
((833 * 4.20) + (416 * 4.0)) / (333 * .15) = 103.35 isk per m3
Scordite is .15 m3 per unit and yields 833 units of tritanium and 416 units of pyerite per batch of 333 units of ore. Tritanium is valued at 4.2 isk per unit and pyerite is 4.0 isk per unit in the above example.
I have not included the batch sizes since you already have them on the latest rev of your spreadsheet.
Thanks for your efforts and keep up the good work.

its kind of what i was speaking of, but to use an exampl (take twoguns formual for example) it shows the value per m3 of a ore. i would like to know the value of said ore with a full cargo load(which is measured in m3)
one way you could arrange it is have one spot for a user to enter the size of their cargo and then have the results come up with this arrangement. (ore name) = (value per m3) and (value per cargo load)
that will give miners a good idea(with a quick and clean layout) of which ore is best to mine at the time.
i noticed that at the bottom of v1.5 you have line total and grand total, when i mine i usually mine just one ore at a time(whichever is more valuable at the time).

I've already calculated the Batch Price, which of course is based on output minerals*current Price so that's all done, all I had to do was divide it by the ore required per batch and divide by volume.
The values can be found on the Ore Data Page, I'll put them somewhere more noticeable in the next release as I've realised I missed out the % reduction for inter corp purchases where a bit of a reduction is okay as it leads to extra profit from the produced items.
If you want to ADD a profit margin use a negative % number.
I'll add the Cost/M3 to the Mineral Total Sheet in the next update.
The cargo size can be entered on the Cargo Weights Page, so if you know what your maximum volume is enter it here and it will tell you the total units AND the value, you'll be able to see the price / m3 on the Mineral Total Sheet on the next update which I'm afraid will have to be monday morning at the earliest as I work over the weekend and don't get a chance to play on the Eve Online Single Player Spreadsheet.
Wishful Thinking Mode ****
What I really wouldn't mind doing is adding a mineral inventory list sheet and then when you press a Refine button on the spreadsheet a macro would start that would take the mineral totals from the refining page and add them to your current inventory and then clears the inputted figures. But in order for that to work I'd need to a) learn how to do macros properly b) be trusted so that people would use a spreadsheet with macro's enabled and c) have some point in having an inventory in the first place without some where to "spend" the inventory, otherwise there's no point at all.
END OF WISHFUL THINKING MODE ***
Any guys, I hope version 1.5 is useful to you know that you know where the price/m3 information can be found and I've just looked at it again and it tells you how much volume the Ore takes up as well, forgot I did that.

My pleasure.
I'll be working on getting the existing pages organised more uniformly where possible and then the next big thing.
TNBT is where builders will be able to enter ME level and number of runs then obtain a total mineral requirement amount on an "Inventory" page so that you can see IF you could produce what you wanted to with what you have or if you're short it will tell you by how much. I'll be playing around with conditional formating to see if I can make the right items appear on the sheet that will be easier to see what you've chosen to build from the different categories. (ten/eleven lines maximum representing concurrent building slots). OR I could split it between categories by slots, while of course having ammo/missiles/drones on a seperate page.
So much work to do so much planning.
Keep up the suggestions and please if you download and use it let me know what you think of it yes.

A bump good people of New Eden.
I'm working on the next version of this little spreadsheet which will bear very little resemblance to version 1.50 and will have a totally different name.
It will do more as well, where the key aim is to reduce the number of manual inputted items before the user gets the information they need to get to make manufacturing and refining fun and interesting.
There's no estimated date of release, but suffice to say I'll be shouting it out from the heavens (if only this bloody spreadsheet could be the death of me).
