ESAM v1.3.4b released.
Creating rules had a problem. I've taken the problem out back and had a severe talk with it. He's cool now and buying me a beer.
Enjoy the bug fix release. --

Pretty sweet job on ESAM so far. I'm wondering if it's possible to port this to Kunena forums. I'm not terribly good at programming, so I figured I'd ask here before I start hammering away at trying to integrate it.

ESAM in its current state is a mess, not as messy as when I adopted the project, but messy enough to prevent easy integration into other forums.
I do have plans for an ESAM 2.0 (everyone cheer!) which should address this problem. The ESAM code will be heavily refactored and even support SMF 2.0 and direct integration with TS3.
For now tho, it's still vapourware. --

Very cool, that would be amazing to have in SMF.

Yes it should be,
If you still get the error easiest way to fix is to open the php file that the error specifies, find iset and change it to isset
Simply a typo.

I know currently it doesn't assign a primary membergroup. Is it possible to include it to assign one upon registration with a set of rules..

Ran into a slight issue on install of the current version. I am assuming it is just me and not an actual issue.
Below are the steps taken.
1. I installed a fresh copy of SMF version 1.1.11. 2. Download a copy of esam_v1.3.4b.tgz from the google code site. 3. Change the tar ball into a zip. 4. Followed the install instructions on the google code site.
The results after the redirection to the settings page is a page with a selection of check boxes with no labels on them and a button with no text. The only item listed is the word Proxy. I also have no entry under the configuration menu for ESAM, but I do have a blank space where this should go.
Any thoughts for what may be happening here?

"Assigning users to a membergroup if they have an invalid API." when this idea is implemented? We really need it

I go weeks at a time without looking at this thread. So it's a good thing William Clark filed an issue, I helped him find a solution to this issue within hours of receiving the issue email.
Rocade, create Feature Discussion issue in the place I've linked a several times throughout this thread. Your idea is a good one, but without an issue I'll just forget about it. -- Status: Long term hibernation. |

Over the course of the next two weeks I will be resolving some open issues which will include some feature requests. However, priority is Issue 191. Except some nice stuff to be released two weeks from today, if not sooner.
=====
Gen Error: API offline means.. the API is offline. Nothing can be done about that. As far as corrupted files, you might want to try re-downloading the file and confirming the checksums match. If they do match and your forum still complains, you've got forums issues. -- Status: Long term hibernation. |

Hiya!
After installing ESAM om my SMF 1.1.11 (first install of ESAM, ever) the installation seems to be fine and I get the success message. However, when poking around I realize that I cannot create any rules in the EVE-O settings pane. After I type in a rule and click save I get a blank screen along with the following error in the forums error log;
<url to forum>/index.php?action=EsamSettings;sa=rules 8: Undefined index: header_size File: <path to forum>/Sources/EsamApi.php Line: 471
No matter how the rule I create is made up, I always get this error.
when looking at a users profile (mine or another) and specifically looking at the Forum Profile Information settings, all options below the Website url field is removed, incl. the button to save changes. The following error is logged;
<url to forum>/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=2;sa=forumProfile 8: Undefined index: header_size File: <path to forum>/Sources/EsamApi.php Line: 472
URLs and paths are modified ofcourse ... :)
Any ideas on what's going on?
SMF: 1.1.11 Theme: doesnt matter. same error in vanilla and custom.

Edited by: Squizz Caphinator on 25/08/2010 16:51:19 ESAM v1.4.0 has been released!
Fixes: - Fixed problem with curl_opt not working properly on some servers - Fixed problem with header sizes not working properly on some servers
Features: - ESAM now tracks validity of APIs and will not re-request invalid APIs. - Added option to force a user redirect to their profile if their API is invalid - Forum admins can see at a glance how many APIs are stored on the forum, including: -- Valid APIs -- Invalid APIs - can list them and/or delete them -- APIs that are valid but do not match any ESAM rules. Such as members who have left the corp or alliance.

Hi Squizz,
Just as a heads up I had to change line 44 from:
Quote: // API list public $Q_EVE_API_AUDIT= "select api.ID_MEMBER id_member, memberName, realName, additionalGroups from smf_members members, smf_esam_api api where members.ID_MEMBER = api.ID_MEMBER and api.valid = '{valid}' order by memberName";
to:
Quote:
// API list public $Q_EVE_API_AUDIT= "select api.ID_MEMBER id_member, memberName, realName, additionalGroups from {db_prefix}members members, {db_prefix}esam_api api where members.ID_MEMBER = api.ID_MEMBER and api.valid = '{valid}' order by memberName";
(note the use of {db_prefix}
My table prefixes are upper instead of lower case and the v1.4.0 code was throwing an error citing that the table could not be found. Quick edit, and all is well.
Thanks for working on this new release! Warmly, "The Bear" JW

Johnathan Walker, all I can say is "durr". I can't believe I let that one slip by! Thank you for letting me know about it. I'll update the source in a few minutes.
Rocade and Bumse, each of you should create an issue in the appropriate place. There we can establish a dialogue and determine what the true problem is that you're experiencing. Establishing dialog in these forums is cumbersome, messy, and difficult to track. Plus, these forums do not email me and therefore it might take days or weeks for me to respond. -- Status: Long term hibernation. |

Hey,
ESAM works fine on SMF 1.1.11 but can you check please the subs.php, profile.php and register.php for SMF 2.0 RC3 ? SMF 2.0 is much better than 1.1

Though this hasn't been discussed lately, the general plan was that ESAM would not be ported to SMF2 until they do a full release. While Release Canidates are getting there, they're still not a full release. When Simple Machines is ready to call SMF2 released, I'm sure ESAM will not be far behind. ----- CCP FAILS AGAIN! Hi Squizz.
we have used this mod for a long time along with smf as we find it to be the best option to suit our Eve requirements. is it possible in the manage rules skill section to add more than one drop down menu for skill requirements to be added to a membergroup all at the same time ?
mant thanks for this great mod and keep up the good work. Mediek

Xera, there is already a SMF 2.0 authenticator, called TEA. You can find a link to it at the bottom of my first post in this thread. It does what ESAM does but just a tad bit more.
When SMF 2.0 comes out of beta and they stop changing how back end things work, *then* I'll work on an ESAM that'll work with the newer version.

Mediek, I fully understand that assigning a large number of skills can be a pain in the arse. I have looked at ways to add multiple skills, or groups of like skills (such as all racial Dreads), but all methods will make the back end code difficult. I'm a firm believer in the KISS principle, and I'm also a lazy programmer, so difficulty doesn't work well with me :) Doesn't mean I won't do something about it, it's just unlikely anytime soon. -- Status: Long term hibernation. |

Ty for the compliment :) If I wasn't lazy I'd probably have TS3 included by now! :P I had a working prototype a couple of months ago but TS3 being beta the devs went and wonked everything up. Yes, I said wonked, that's my professional term of the day. -- Status: Long term hibernation. |
