I'm going mad, i'm running level 3 like a crazy, but the standing increase is so ridiculously slow It looks like it will take forever. I've trained the social skills already and i'm doind the missions as fast as i can, no loot, no salvage, just complete the objective and start another one, but the standing increase is so stupidly slow
How many missions should i expect? Any tip?

Got your social skill up? It shouldn't take too long, really... helps to have a storyling agent nearby for the same corp, though.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

nah, you dont speak chinese, but you sure dont phrase yourself in a clear way for everybody to understand.
The "social" skill is one of many "connection" skills. Hence the reason why somebody misunderstod you. In short, your at fault here sir! No need to roll with your eyes or bite peoples head off, when they try to help you. |

There are a lot of factors, but the single biggest one I would say is this:
What corporation are you doing your storyline missions for?
If you can arrange it where you get storyline missions from an agent working for the same corp you're currently doing L3 missions for and planning on moving to L4 missions, it'll go a lot faster. You get a MUCH larger corp standing increase for storyline missions than you do from normal missions. Heck, if I'm not mistaken, my corp standing with the storyline agent's corp I was doing while I was still working up through the L3s went from 0.0 to the mid 4.x range before I was done. If he'd been from the same corp it would have gone a lot faster. Still, I think it only took me 2-3 days to reach the point where I could go up to a L4 agent.
You have the social skills trained already you say. Try to use the best combination of high quality agent and low security status system to maximize your gains. Look for an agent where there's a storyline agent from the same corp closer than any other storyline agent. It should go much faster that way. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

well now to post something that has something to do with this topic :p
i can currently get some lvl4 agents, quality about -18. got to it by doing lvl3 for about 2 weeks (done lots of lvl1 and 2 before, more than needed to get to lvl3, had to wait for skill)
nobody covered question, what quality agent you have? because the quality and how much the agent likes you determines the standing rise.

Well be more polite, because even if people didn't give you the answer you were hoping, at least the spend some time and had the will to help you out ...
Now regarding your issue, do not stick to the same low quality lvl3 agent you started doing lvl3s at the first time. Each agent gives standings up to a level and after you reach that level the gain is minimal. So you need to move to a higher quality one to keep the gains at a respectable level. And I hope you are doing killing missions because they are the ones that give the best standings rewards. Also focus at doing storyline missions for the same corp you are running missions. Otherwise the standings' gain goes to the faction, which will tale a lot longer to get at a level to allow you access to lvl4 agents.
Now, do you speak Chinese?!

Well some information on your ship and fittings wouldn't go wrong here
Personally, when I started level 3's I was in a brand new myrm, and stuff did go slowly, but after some choice training and a few module changes I was burning through them nicely and even without social skills and not doing gallente storyline (Don't want to be pigeonholed into Gal or Min space, esp with Jita being in Caldari) I've been netting some fast gains
Also I jump agents often, increasing the qual to get a higher standing boost (and the money is nice)
Well hope that helps :p

How would anything concerning his ship have anything to do with his problem with standings increase?

Because for all we know he could be using a active shield tanking brutix with pulse lasers :p mission completion speed = standing increase

Luckily i'm not that noob I'm literally burning through missions and using the best agents i can find but i'm running missions since 3 day several hours/day and i still need a lot of work, this is a bad thing if you ask me. Why can't level 4 agents always give you 1 mission when you first talk to them? With a very high collateral aswell and only if you fail you have to do all the boring thing =)

Does your ISP charge you by the letter to post here or something? Which social skills have you trained and to what level?
Originally by: Zaraki KenpachiSan How many missions should i expect? Any tip?
Sure. Look at the Show transactions info for your standings with the corp you are grinding. Average the gain from the last few missions, divide the amount you need by that number. Et voila!

Train Advanced Patience to 4, that'll help the situation
Eve isn't a game of quick fixes (unless you stray into the wrong part of space and you get the quick way back to your med-bay)
Just keep plodding on, bearing in mind that L4 missions are designed to be a challenge, surely it's best for ccp to keep them away from people who aren't ready for them.
I'm not suggesting that you're incapable but it's relatively easy to get to L3 missions, and if people blitz L3's and then get shot to bits in a few L4's they'll be whinging on the forum faster than you can say Jita Lag.

Sorry i can't understand, where should i look??
BTW i've trained: Social and Connection to level 5 (diplomacy, negotiation, military and political connection too, but those don't count for the standing).

There's a couple of ways to go. You can look at the Show Info on the corporation you're working for. Go to the Standings tab. Right click on your name in the Characters list and select Show Transactions.
Alternately open your Character Sheet. Go to the Standings tab, to the Liked By tab and right-click on the name of the corporation you're working for in the list. Select Show Transactions.
Either method will show you the percentage standing increase you've been getting per mission which should let you know how many more missions you can expect to run.
Since lvl 4 mission are the goal you should not be surprised that you need to work for it a while. |

Edited by: Aldoy Freelancer on 14/04/2009 20:46:23 I had no faction rep (actually its still bad, below 0) and decided to raise rep with a min corp just so I could recover some min fation standings at some stage.
I did under 6 hours of missioning and was already into lvl 4 agents for the min corp.
I do have social 5 trained so get the max +25% standing increase. I was blitzing so not looting/salvaging.
In that time I did only 3 storylines. 1x for lvl 1/2/3 and was into lvl 4 agents. My corp standing has improved to just below 6 with the blitzing. Still not quite enough for all the lvl 4 agents, but still a good start. I didn't pick too hard as I wanted agent near my location (admin/security/intel/admin type of thing).
Standings from missions I think are the same from agents reguardless of quality. ie a ql -20 agent gives the same standing increase for a mission as a +20 ql agent giving the same mission. I have heard some experienced (senile?) old timers recommend running a higher ql agent of a lower level as they say this is faster increases in standings.
Diplomacy/connections/criminal connections raise your standings. eg diplo 5 will raise a base -5 standing to -2.
The other social skills increase lp etc - ie no further standings improvement. Still worth training if your going to run lots of missions but they do nothing for raising your standings.
If your missioning for isk, then the higher ql agent gives more isk reward/bonus/lp. But looking at the standings ... the standings of a full level 4 mission (6 hours time allowance) looks strangely similar standings increase with my -17 ql lvl 4 min agent vs my +18 lvl 4 amarr agent. I also looked at the transaction log and looks at the ql 10 gal agent vs my ql 18 amarr agent (both lvl 4's) - again the standing increases looked very similar.

There seems to be some variable in the Standing gain of missions.
While i grinded standing for the CPF Agent in Irjunen i had 2 Angel Extravaganza Missions (Lvl 4) which both gave around 4.6% Standing increase (Social 3). Yesterday i flew my first AE 4 for said Agent in Irjunen and i got a Standing increase of 5.2%
Might be that system security lvl is affecting it. i think that first two missions were in a 0.7 and the last one was in a 0.5

Took 2-3 days last time I did some standings grind ( for SoE ) to get to the lowest ql l4 agent, using a ( mostly ) kill mission agent. All done semi-afk in a Domi though. I never trained any social skill past 3.
