BTW I could consistently bookmark every site in system (average 15 sites) in the time it took a probe to expire (70 mins).

With the change of the scanning system it was not a matter of RL skills, but rather grind (scan again and again, just to see the same signature a 10th time). 100% scan results were before the Apocrypha changes, just based on trained skills and it is good that that went away...

I think you're overreacting, nobody is gonna make you use this sifting system they're gonna put in. I myself would have liked to have this a few days ago for the simple reason that
1) it makes it easier to catalog a system if I can filter out results I already legitimately tracked down and visited
2) More importantly, as it was Some wormholes had way too many results (yes I know thats being cut down now). The other day I was stuck in a wormhole for several hours because I couldnt find the wormhole with all the extra gravimetric hits I kept picking up. Seeming no matter what happened I'd always be drawn to the same 3 grav sites, all of which I had visited and made QUITE sure that none of the rocks were hiding any wormholes inside lol.
Sure it made for a challenge, but after hours of being stuck, I was ready to find a new challenge, so the sorting system would have been quite welcome. Luckily I got my challenge when I finally made it out and had to run 3 0.0 gatecamps... lol
Once you have found a site (and warped to it) you get a beacon for it in the solar system map. This beacon is dimmed if it does not fall within the scan range of any of your active probes. Using those beacons you can determine which hits are likely to be ones you have not scanned down already. The only reason you would keep scanning down the same site is because you were not paying attention to all the infomation provided on the solar system map.
I would love to invite you to the WH system and let you have a go at it, if I ever find it again, because its not simply a case of blind-******ed-Omega lol. But anyway like I said, you dont HAVE to use the system if I had to guess, so whats the harm? I don't think you'll lose your challenge if you choose to do it that way, right? ------ "Nothing ventured, nothing ganked." - Me |

I was proud of the fact that I was good at something most people found difficult. I was very pleased to be better at doing something in EVE than other people who had better character skills for it. Arrogance? Ego? Maybe. I could choose not to use the changes and do it the old way, but that would be like refusing to use the overview because all the information is available by viewing/selecting the objects in space.

The game should have a steep learning curve, and should be difficult to master. Whining at the players who know how to play, or whining at CCP to have then nerf things is just a sign of your incompetent gaming.
L2P or GTFO!
Then again, whining at the changes made when you're a veteran player is even more lame. The game changed, you have something else to do now. Get over it, and get on with it. You can't possibly be useless just because one ship got nerfed? Are you really such a lousy gamer?
L2P the patch or GTFO!

The customer is always right. He can be wrong, and the process you explain above is exactly what needs to be done to make him right. Good explanation. That is the true customer service I'm talking about. The extra mile.

Perhaps, and I feel you on that. I know what you mean. Up until the other day I never really had any problems. And you're right about the overview part, but you can still take pride in doing it the old way and being good at it.
Besides just because people will have this option available to them now, doesn't mean it will make them all scanning gods. I'm sure there will still be plenty of people who find it difficult even with the filter. ------ "Nothing ventured, nothing ganked." - Me |

I couldn't find it in the patch notes so I figured I'd ask in case I missed something.
Was the bug fixed where if you change your graphics settings, you get all these crazy flashing plane things coming out of your ship, or the weird triangles that stay with your ship when you undock sometimes? That was the most annoying bug to me...

I would recommend that they keep trial accounts in their own "Local Trial Chat" and the "Help Chat" groups and not let them use the regular Local Chat windows until they cough up some money. Paying pilots would have the option to join these channels, IF they wanted to assist trial account users.
This way, paying pilots need not be inundated with spammers and/or non-committed noobs. When new pilots start paying, they advance from the "Local Trial Chat" to the regular "Local Chat".
This way when they ban someone from being a spammer, they can put a stop on the credit card they are using which would be more effective. You would also probably identify quickly what their main account (via credit card number) is since they are most likely a paying pilot with a main alt.
I put this in a formal request but they stated it was not a good idea. They stated that it would be difficult for the trial accounts or something like that ... WHAT ABOUT TAKING CARE OF THE PAYING ACCOUNTS?!?! We don't want the spammers ... my block lists are full! Keep them out of the paying area, if they want to spam their isk selling websites, at least make them pay to do it .. then block them for good!
Also, is there a manual download for the latest patch yet? I can't find any links in this thread.

Nope, it looks like a broken mechanic that was fixed. If you're not wearing an implant, you shouldn't be getting its bonus, simple as that.
as nice as it might be to get some ghost bonuses from implants that arn't there, I gotta agree with this one.
It's not that People would disagree with you, however alot of PVPers are willing to PVP knowing that if they risk 40 million of implants to PVP, they will atleast get ONE skill completed out of it.
The point isn't RIGHT vs WRONG, the point is how this will discourage PVP(ers) and is this the desired result of this change? I mean Who was really being hurt by a player being allowed to finish thier current skill training after being podded. Which from my experience can happen due to lag in Faction warefare.
If they are going to nerf skill training after being podded, they should also nerf the lag which often results in being podded. Isnt losing 20 to 500m worth of implants enough of a penalty? And until they are able to nerf the lag, i think they should let this one go. Most PVPers and PVEers would probably agree with that.
So say we all?

I'm pretty sure that when the autopatcher runs (when it is available) that it doesn't require you to download the entire client install, and just a patch.
