Originally by: Deunan Newt I would recommend that they keep trial accounts in their own "Local Trial Chat" and the "Help Chat" groups and not let them use the regular Local Chat windows until they cough up some money. Paying pilots would have the option to join these channels, IF they wanted to assist trial account users.
This way, paying pilots need not be inundated with spammers and/or non-committed noobs. When new pilots start paying, they advance from the "Local Trial Chat" to the regular "Local Chat".
This way when they ban someone from being a spammer, they can put a stop on the credit card they are using which would be more effective. You would also probably identify quickly what their main account (via credit card number) is since they are most likely a paying pilot with a main alt.
I put this in a formal request but they stated it was not a good idea. They stated that it would be difficult for the trial accounts or something like that ... WHAT ABOUT TAKING CARE OF THE PAYING ACCOUNTS?!?! We don't want the spammers ... my block lists are full! Keep them out of the paying area, if they want to spam their isk selling websites, at least make them pay to do it .. then block them for good!
Also, is there a manual download for the latest patch yet? I can't find any links in this thread.
Soultrader:
Good idea, although it may lead to massive pm spams in the main trading hubs, which would be a lot more annoying. I'm guessing it will not take a long time for isk farmers to write such scripts.
Subrahmaya: Perhaps any qualms about it being difficult for the trial accounts could be alleviated by giving trial accounts read-only access to local. The help channel would always be available to them for questions. Maybe PM's for trial accounts could be throttled to a certain number per hour, and a certain number per Eve day.
Soultrader:
Yeah PM limit and read-only local might help..
Hi Deunan, Will you commit to resubmitting this request to CCP with the additional suggestions we've made? Then the developers can let us know if it's a viable option or not. We need to keep trying, I think that's the key (you've done all the work, not me, but I still want to see you succeed with this project).
Hey Subrahmaya Chandrasekhar, I will re-submit this information, as should everyone that agrees and wants to see the spammers inhibited to the point of non-existent. We pay for the game, why should we have to muttle through spammers that don't?
The idea is simple, clear and very possible. Like i said, we all should take important matters such as this to heart, and not the freaking million timezone comments... DN

Possible to request someone to post the direct link to the whole patch (given by the installer if downloading fails)? My patcher is failing horribly atm.

i'm quite sure ccp will take another 2-3 hrs to get running. they have to go test stuff and make sure they didn't make any mistakes. so, let's just fight here in the mean time. due to ccp always nerfing good ships caldari sucks even more now. so, just spend another 30 days training another cruiser to 5 and even longer getting the support skils to go with it.
