I had to rebuild my MBP and downloaded the new client this morning. This is where the problem started.
After the download and I have downloaded on my mac and also my linux pc and copied across I run the install and get the following error
The following disk images failed to mount eve-premium_002317 Not Recognised
After 3 try i'm at a loss as to what to do next...any ideas?
cheers

Get a download manager or something, your download is corrupt.
I just downloaded it from CCP to make sure it wasn't corrupt on their end (since that's happened before) and it's fine. It's something on your end. ---- FREE Explorer Lead Megalomanic EVE Null-Sec Player Influence Map http://dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/Veritefw/FWinf |

There appears to be an issue with the full client download that causes the download to break off somewhere between 140 and 300Mb. We're looking into the cause of the issue.

Ahh, glad it isn't just me then, was confused as to why I couldn't download the full client to either my windows box or mac, so assumed it was my connection, then tried through another 2 connections I have access to and even they didn't work.
I have noticed that when I install Eve from the CD I bought (I am a sucker for merchandise you see) and run the patch for that, whenever I try to run it, nothing happens, but I am not too worried about it, yay bootcamp.

They just re-hosted the file it seems as the download was unavailable for a few hours yet the same problem is still occurring. CCP maybe re-host an older version and let us patch up to the latest ?
This is becoming quite a pickle :(

We had to purge the old files from the hosting network and upload everything again. This takes a little time as we need to ensure no traces of the old files remain, otherwise we get problems like the ones we had at the launch of Apocrypha. The complete installer should soon be available from the download page.

Still having some troubles with the full client downloader unfortunately, not to worry though, I am sure that it will get sorted when you get.

May I once again suggest that CCP should publish the exact size in bytes and an md5 digest of the files they make available for download?
People would then be able to check if a download is complete or partial AND also check there was no error in the data.
This would also have an extra advantage: 3rd parties could provide download services (ftp/http hosting or P2P seeds) of the files without CCP needing to go crazy warning everibody that downloading from other sources is dangerous. If you are really paranoid, publish three different digests, like MD5, SHA1, MDC2.

That would be nice, every time that I have tried to download the client the Firefox downloader states that it has no idea on the file size, which is quite strange as the file size should be stated when its downloading. This problem of course makes the game unplayable for some of us...

thanks, just two questions.
1. should I cancel my current download which is not working and start again or just leave to sort itself out. 2. is there a chance of getting this download from a ftp server?

Yea, I am using Downthemall and I am still not getting the whole file, although I got to 12% instead of 7%, but that is still a good bit off the target of 100%, but hey, never mind. I am sure we will get there eventually

Same problem here. After downloading the Apocrypha 1.1 patch, the patch told me i had to reinstall. Now i cannot download the client. I cannot play, which sucks when you pay for it.

I'm sure they are working on it.
Its not good if new players cannot get the client and they will want it resolved asap :0)
just a shame there is no FTP site.

Perhaps you could start using the bit-torrent protocol for the mac client as well? I'm sure we'd see faster downloads, even if you're using CDN's to distribute the files.

Is there no bittorrent version for mac??
This is rediculous - It is the weekend and I cant log in Since Thursday due to download errors that were supposedly fixed.
Sure they are probably off work until Monday now!
New players looking to start playing will be put off with this.

I have tried the whole night, I now have 22% of the client data. The server will send me no more.
Listen, CCP, the Mac EVE experience is bordering on the ridiculous even IF the client was downloadable. I believe a statement concerning how the gaming experience will be improved for Mac users is in order. Actually, talking of Mac compatibility right now is false advertising, at least from my experiences over the last 2 months.
