Now since the update, since the skill lists do exactly state what skill does affect torpedoes....
What skill will affect torpedoes? Every Plan lasts until the first shot is fired. "I have a Plan, a good one." Generally means it is not. If Yellow it get a Fellow Killed |

I take it you mean in relation to the sb. All generic missile skills will affect torpedoes damage. Missile Bombardment is a main skill for velocity which in turn affect max range. I've probably missed loads..... The skill itself will make you able to use t2 torps , when high enough, which will allow the selection of higher range lower dmg or shorter range higher dmg. rage and javelin i do believe.

Guided Missile Precision does not affect torps/hams/rockets.

More damage is more damage, what else are you gonna train to maximize your damage output. It's like asking if advanced weapons upgrades 5 is worth it. Might not be worth it till you try to squeeze everything you can ontop a ship.

Only you can answer that question.
If missiles are your primary weapon system, then I would say yes, it is generally worth it to have Warhead Upgrades V.
It is comparable to Surgical Strike V for gunnery, and most pilots will have it at V when they have about 30M sp.

ya i only have about 9 million sp right now, and im thinking to just train all my enineering skillz to level 5 then well most of them that are critical, i have all of them to lvl 4 at the moment, but ya thanks for your input.

I got 37mil SP, and I plan on training that skill once I have 2 weapon systems trained up. Especially useful then.

When you've got AWU to level 5, torp spec to lvl 5 + all other missile support skills those torps will sure rock. Mine do! |

You're asking the wrong question. The right question would be "when is training MP/TNP to L5 worth it?" The answer to that would be "if you're shooting slightly faster targets with torps on a regular basis and have no other relevant skills left to train".

You're asking the wrong question. The right question would be "when is training MP/TNP to L5 worth it?" The answer to that would be "if you're shooting slightly faster targets with torps on a regular basis and have no other relevant skills left to train".
Um, both of those are pretty important skills for missile PvP, and should be trained sooner rather than later.

To clarify Akita's comment, Signature Focusing improves the effectiveness of target painters, which are almost a must fit when using torpedoes.
Missile Projection I regard as a must train as it increases missile velocity, reducing time to target and the likelihood of fast ships outrunning your torpedoes entirely.
Since Guided Missile Prediction doesn't affect torpedoes, Target Navigation Prediction is the only skill that will improve damage on any ship going faster than the torpedoes explosion velocity (which is 71m/s base), which is almost every ship apart from capitals and some industrials.

TNP, with its 10%/level bonus, is an extremely important skill. It should be trained to IV immediately, then should be the first missile support skill to be taken to V.

yes. all your missile support skills to level 5 then your favourite missiles to lvl 5. Mine are tech II heavy, torp and cruise launchers so I have those to lvl 5. That will give you very impressive missile ability. On top of that anything else that you want to use including target painters + their skills, BCU's, implants and pills.
