So I decided to give my CovOps scanner alt one more month of training, in the hopes of making him a decent bomber. I wonder if this plan is feasible? I'm especially concerned about navigation skills (I have no bomber experience but think that speed and agility could be important) and the missile skills, as I know nothing about missiles in general, and also about everything that deals with cap consumption (including EWAR skills). Or is cap even an issue on bombers?
What he has now (selected, relevant skills out of 5.8mil SP)
Cloaking IV Electronics V Electronics Upgrades V Engineering V
Navigation V Evasive Maneuvering IV Afterburner III High Speed Maneuvering III
Covert Ops V Spaceship Command IV
... and the plan:
Acceleration Control III Fuel Conservation III
Launcher Rigging II Energy Management III
Targeting II Long Range Targeting III Propulsion Jamming III Target Painting III Weapon Disruption III
Weapon Upgrades V Advanced Weapon Upgrades III
Missile Launcher Operation V Standard Missiles III Heavy Missiles III Torpedoes IV Cruise Missiles IV ( do I want both of these, or would it be better to take one V?) Missile Bombardment IV Missile Projection III Target Navigation Prediction III Rapid Launch IV Warhead Upgrades III Bomb Deployment IV
As is obvious, squeezing a new weapon system to a 30-day skill plan results in having to stop at level III on many skills. What do you think, something that really needs to be trained higher, or something I don't need at all?
Planned use a combat scanner with teeth/sneaky suicide tackle (got Rangefinding V :o ), and wormspace a******e duties.

Excellent, thanks! Scrapping cruises will let me level up targeting and the rigging, and then something else. The alt is Minnie, so will fly a Hound. |

Othran wrote:I'd train painting to 4 then do Signature Focusing to 4. Doesn't take long and gives you 20% boost to painter sig radius mulitiplier.
Edit - also Long range jamming will give you better optimal on the painters etc. Depends on you whether that's useful or not.
That is a lucrative improvement, looks like it fits in the plan as well.
Thanks for the help, guys! Looking forward to flying this :) |

Alphelas thanks for the input, but I've read a couple guides that mention tracking disruption as important for mitigating damage... this is for solo sb, not for proper bombing runs.
I've now remapped for perc/will and currently pushing Weapon Upgrades, so the SP is already spent on Weapon Disruption in any case. |

Cool, ty.
It appears I made some miscalculation in the skill plan (using Mac Eve Tools instead of Evemon, and the attributes feature is not perfect in MET), and the plan definitely does not fit into my current sub. So, one more month - what skills would you consider primary levelling targets?
Mainly wondering if I should emphasise support (engineering, navigation) skills or missile skills. |

Thanks again guys, you are awesome and this has been very helpful :)
Soldarus nice, I can stop training Bomb Deplo at level 1.
Weapon Disruption allows me to fit & use a tracking disruptor, and helps a bit with the limited cap on a frig. My reasoning to train this was to help with speed tanking, and I trained it already before remapping for missile skills... but good point, sensor damping would be a more universal solution, I will add Sensor Linking to the que.
Is it possible to fit T2 launchers on a solo Hound and have some other modules too?
Peek-A-Boo sounds interesting, I'll keep you in mind! I have currently very little time for EVE, just some forum posting during breaks from work, but when I get back : ) scanning skills shoud be fine on this toon btw, all at IV except Astrometric Rangefinding... which is at V.
