I love and hate these kind of threads all at the same time. So much epic information and interesting things, but so much that it takes a while to neatly unpack it and really understand what's going on. Overload! Overload!
With that little rant out of the way, here's my two cents. I believe that one of the above posters may have been on the right track. We all know that the jove's arch enemy they were(still are) fighting, were well, bad. Who's to say they weren't fighting against the other 4 races. The quarantine the jove's put themselves under can most likely be traced back to these quarantine zones. This was so long ago that this was when the Enheduanni probably had to use physical attacks instead of their now teleportation attacks. Anyway, these quarantines could have happened before while the joves tried to help defend the other 4 races from the Enheduanni, but the Jove's were so confident that they didn't bother to Quarantine themselves until the events in Theodicy, where they saw just how powerful the Enheduanni have become.
So, these quarantine sites are most likelythe result of Enheduanni...whatever. But with the holes open, what was left there can now be opened. We don't know the map of all those solar systems, but the races of old do. Apocrypha roughly means that which was hidden is now shown, perhaps the sleepers weren't the only things that were hideen. Not to echo pottsey, but I believe with this new evidence, it's all leading up to the Enheduanni coming out. Hell maybe with Ambulation we'll get missions to seek out sleeper agent npc's and eventually goto war with them. I mean think about it, 4 races are already wiped out, a new 4 rise. What's to stop another great war from happening.
SHTF people, it's coming, and it will be awesome.
Also, I would like quotes from sites as wel if anyone has them.

i encountered these sleepers in a wormhole in the yarebap system and as i was traveling with my other friends we came upon the sleepers and we were throwing out ideas as to what they are and why they are there. i dont know a whole lot about eve lore but i know the basics and they lost contact with earth a long time ago so they have no idea how earth could have progressed so what if w/e federation empire etc earth is right now was part of this whole sleeper ordeal? and if they made contact with earth through these wormholes or somethin that would be awesome lol

Only Amarr and Jove would likely call the Jove cutting off their jump bridges recent. After all, it happened over a century ago within the internal timeline of the game.

If anyone has a picture of anything Jove compare it to sleepers, look for any of the same designs. And can't WHs take you between times too?

Lets not even think about time travel......
But on the topic of Sleepers being the "conscience" of Talcon in statis is the most probable out of all the evidence we have. Maybe sleepers are like Pods?????? but instead of bodys incased in a pod, its a conscience incased in a microchip??? would explain why they appear from salvaging, that they can do other things too other than fight.......
Thoughts anyone????

Having studied Sleeper ships, I have concluded that there is no design connection between Sleepers and the Jove. Jove ships, at least those that I have seen, resemble coral or microscopic animals. Sleepers, on the other hand, have a distinctly utilitarian design, something of a cross between Caldari and Gallente ships, with a hint of Minmatar.
Quote: And can't WHs take you between times too?
According to current real-life WH theory, yes. For the purposes of the game, no you cannot go back 200 years through a WH and stop the Caldari-Gallente war. Though taking a T3 fleet back to the first years of the game would be undoubtedly awesome.
However, here is something else to think about: Because wormholes allow you to travel vast distances in an instant, effectively out-speeding light, you are (in a certain manner) time traveling. For example, if we could prove that a certain WH was around 200 light-years from Luminaire, then yes you could take a big enough telescope, point it at Caldari Prime, and watch Tovil-Toba crash his carrier into the planet. Of course, any message you sent would take 200 years to get back, unless you are using whatever sci-fi comms we use in-game. Of course, the same could be said for warp / jump drives and stargates. ----------------------------------------------
Say "Amarr ships suk, lol." I dare you.

I totally want to do this now... Go 200 LYs away and get a very very very very very powerful telescope and watch that. |

Amongst other things, I've just run the mission "Infiltrated Outposts" and I noticed something. In the first room, look at the drone structure from the top. Dosen't that look a lot like the central circular structure in a lot of sleeper complexes?

What if the sleepers were designed to maintain the quarantine by the Talocan, and developed past their inventrs expectations.
Something similar to the Jove disease infected them, so they enforced quarantine on themselves in order to try and survive with some part of their society intact. That could also explain why the stargates (if they used them) are no longer extant in womhole space, the talocan would have deliberately destroyed them.

Where is that quote from? Maybe the Talocan lost a war with the sleepers? Chronicles say the wormholes were 'planned'... maybe the Talocan set them up to 'escape' the sleeper invasion but didn't have a chance to initiate them. Skill description says " The Talocan were masters of Spatial manipulation and Hypereuclidean Mathematics." So it sounds like they'd be good at this. -omg-

it was from Quarantine Area Worm Hole Class 5 Site
welll sleepers aint good on genetic.. so i dont think talocanians loosed war to them
maybe Talocan and Sleeper was ally but against whoom? we know jovian/takmahl(current enduandi or whatever their name?) good on genetics so if talocans get wiped out by some kind biological weapon thats probably jovians or that takmahl behind it
Talocan with Sleepers agaisnt Yang Jung with Takmahl (but what about joves)? and at the end talocans sleepers alliance lost war and run to w-space in there they tried to cure whatever that sickness but failed also sleepers lost with talocans but their super ai drones only thing left to keep "defend ruins" of talocans as ally ? also Yang Jung gone from bigger picture..
so we have now Joves who isolated themselves from rest of the e-space enduandi or whatever /takmahl (am i wrong in this cant remember all details about "the order/enduandi" but acording to takmahl info they good on cybernetics and bio-engineering which is currenlty enduandi(!?**) good on)hiding somewhere/or among us.. and with isogen 5 detonation > blue stars explode > W-space opens old talocan and sleepers back to picture but still in the shadows
wish abraxas write another novel about ancient history what was happened who attacked first who lost first and what caused the war :)

Originally by: Toriessian Edited by: Toriessian on 13/05/2009 22:39:25 Maybe this is a strange coincidence but lets look at a top level overview of events...
Jove fighting an ancient powerful enemy essentially quarantine themselves afraid of how the Amarr will be used...
Jamyl Sarum shows up super weapon in hand powered by Isogen-5...
Isogen-5 explosions trigger WH eruptions all over universe.
After reading "All these live are fit to Ruin" I'm wondering if the WH's opening wasn't the triumph of evil, but the capsuleers entering WH space and finishing off the Talocan was the triumph. Maybe they were getting close to a cure that took literally thousands of years to develop?
First of all: GOD DANG you Jamyl Sarum... you screwed up bigtime now >:(
Second of all: Congrats us (capsuleers), we screwed up in possibly destroying a potentally peaceful race XD Or, we saved all known space from a mass invasion from a terrible, dangerous, and most likely bent on domination race (I'd like tho think this possibility for the Talocans) :D

Read over the entire thread..really surprised of how many ideas were tossed out without really coming to any conclusion. quick things to hit down on "Mansion weapon" or w/e Could easily mean Giant weapon or even related to a doomsday device.
In terms of Sleepers and the talocans. (I think thats how its spelled.) there is currently no evidence linking the two( that I have seen posted) So as far as we know the sleepers could actually be an entirely different race, Or, built by an entirely yet to be found race. Possibly even the Jovian! Who know, Maybe the Jovian and the Talocans were at war. The Jovians cut themselves off from everyone because of fear from Talocan's genetic abilities (virus's and the such). Jovians countered with sleepers which would fight on their own without a jovian pilot to be there and guide them.
Only counter to this type of situation would be teleportation. Or has been shown, Wormholes. Lets say the sleepers took out their targets, and damaged the gates that created the wormholes. Now all of new eden is completely covered in WHs that are only up for a bit. quite possible these are caused by Talo technology that is just bugging out and creating random holes.
At any rate. Im just an imaginitive story writer. I really have no idea what happened. These are just ideas that Im tossing out from the top of my head
( ;3 hope one of you on the CCP team like my ideas. Recruit me!)

Ok, we're assuming the Talocan's had some form of plauge that was wiping them out. The Jove have a plauge that is wiping them out. The current Jove aren't the originals (sure I read somewhere that they're the second 'incarnation' of the race) which were wiped out by the same plauge (I'm guessing diminishing returns on long term cloning).
Splinters.
The Talocan's were the Jove, several generations and hundreds/thousands of years removed that legged it in the hope of finding a cure to the plauge and eventually found someone or something was already there.
Alternate idea: EVE-Gate goes boom. What, exactly, happened to the ships in transit when that kicked off? I mean our current backstory is the wormhole collapsed... it could of just gone unstable and its end point moved; how would we know the difference as either way the gateway explodes and there isn't a wormhole there anymore.

On the other hand, perhaps the Talocan and Sleepers both came from another region of space. The Sleepers utilized advanced biowarfare, and both the Talocan and Jovians suffered from this. A war with the Sleepers might have even been the result of the collapse of the first Jovian Empire.
If this is the case, caution will be necessary when dealing with the Sleepers. I would certainly suggest that any Sleeper ship found in k-space be destroyed on sight. ____________________________________ Caldari by birth, Minmatar by citizenship.
