Although this is a piece of false Amarr propoganda that should be burnt, i enjoyed it.
The bit where the BS is a picture and then fades into real time footage and glides past is sheer genius.
Surely the next step is to use voice instead of text. im sure someone here has a decent voice? -

Edited by: Yarrick on 31/08/2004 11:17:27 There was a program once featured on these forums in which you could insert a picture, usually of an Avatar, and then make it say things, im sure if someone could implement this into an EVE video it would make for some intresting stories? _____________________________________________

Thanks for a terrorist your an all right guy! (I'll get you eventually). That part is my favorite part of the whole movie and really is a leap for me. That's a feature I could do with Adobe Premiere that I couldn't have done with the old Windows Movie Maker XP I was using.
Premiere allows you to do transparancies. What I did was take a screenshot of that film clip and used Virtual Painter on it to make it an "oil painting" drawing. Then I moved that clip the the Video2 line of Premiere (the "overlay"). The Video1 line where most of the movie was is covered by anything in Video2. I then took that clip and moved it underneath the .jpg of the Maller. It took some practice but I got it to line up perfectly. I used a quick fade on the drawing .jpg and a quick fade in on the Maller video clip. The effect turned out alot better then I imagined. I had that idea after seeing stuff like that in real movies.
I'm amazed it work given I'm not a "techie" and really have virutally no video experience (these are my first ones ever). All I had was an idea (and little skill). I'll be using more features like this as I learn them. It's very similar to Leafo's "map" transparencies in his Hauler tribute video where the evemap is superimposed (opaque) over the hauler flying around. Same idea.
I bought a book "Learn Adobe Premiere Visually". It's full of neat tutorails and tons of pictures. Its a step by step guide to learning the software so hopefully I'll put out better and better videos as time goes on. I really enjoy making the movies and and looking to expand my range of topics.

I agree that the "slavemart" thing was a great thing
But I think it was the "happy slave" thing, it didn't really fit in somehow. (well only my opinion) Perhaps something along with: "shulders down, a bit sad face and "uhu, guess it's back to work again" or something like that... (Or, "Damn, back to reading then. I HATE reading, evil amarrians always make me read"...)
Other then that I think it actually had it all, music was right at the right moments (emotional at the right moments.)...had humour...a hero (pie captain.)..victim and of course the evil guys...:) And needless to say...a "happy" ending...
If transfered over to some mid-evil thing, it would have been like a merchant being recused from angry peasants by a knight in shiny armor...
And that it shows a lot more then just "fraps of combat" is what makes it stand out really much (at least imo), it becomes more of a story/movie that is interesting to watch.
...and with the light all life vanished... |

Originally by: Camar This film showes nothing more then amarrians comitting criminal acts within minmatar borders. And Pie trespassing into minmatar space shooting down pilots trying to prevent such crimes from happening.
It's illegal to buy/sell slaves within Matari space...
It is perfectly legal to buy slaves within the Imperial Province of Matar. One has only to deal with the insignificant rebels there such as yourself.
It is my birthright to purchase your people, and your proper place in under our boots!

I am sure we would be happy to cast you in the part Khaldorn. Although we would be sure not to give you a live broadcast feed. "Free your slaves now!" is not the message we are trying to send!

Yes watching it again the "happy slave" in the end pops up out of nowhere. I'm strongly considering releasing a "revised edition" of this movie with a couple quick edits. One thing I would do is introduce the happy slave earlier in the movie (maybe saying he is afriad and having the master tell him God will save him). Another would be the very ending. I'd like to "reverse-morph" the maller into a picture (in the beginning it morphs from a picture to a live shot and flies by). I would show it flying off into the sunset then the picture freezing into a drawing.
We'll see how much time I have next weekend. It would be a couple very minor adjustments for the revised edition but hell George Lucas did it for Star Wars!

The Imperial Province of Matar?
No doubt you forget that we threw you filthy buggers out a while back, reclaiming our lands. Sadly, I cannot contradict you about slavers buying and selling slaves in Matari space. I can only condemn them and you both.
Thank Matar for the freedom fighters!

Edited by: Jurgan on 01/09/2004 00:35:33 Actually I believe it was Gallente Federation who played most of the part of throwing the Amarrians out. You would be crushed if the Amarr started a war with the Republic. I feel the only reason Amarr holds back a war with the Minmatar Republic is simply that they would be outnumbered again, having to fight the Gallente Federation who would immediatly stick their large noses into the war because they believe in 'FREEDOM' and 'EQUAL RIGHTS.' Unfortunately this mentality is only used when looking at their bloodline and any non-federation races (excluding Caldari, as they were part of the federation at one point, guess why they left). =<I>= Gloria Victis The Intaki Sovereignty |
