I am sure I read a Chronicle most likly an Eon one, about how an implant let the Pod pilots control the crew members on ships. I seem to recall the story talked about a pod pilot taking over a gunner's body to fire weapons. There was a mention of how the crew felt losing control of their body.
Can anyone remember the old Eon Chronicle's about Pod pilots controlling crew member's bodies? Can anyone remember around which issue it was?

None that I know of. I do remember however some player posting something like that in a "Do ships have crew" threads. No clue which of the hundred it was, though. -------- Ideas for: Mining

Whatever it was, it would now be considered non-canon and non-official, as there are many chronicles and short stories on the EVE website that contradict this, meaning you are a pilot neurally connected to every major system on the ship, not the center of a ship-wide hive mind... (who the bleep came up with that stuff anyway?)

I remember reading a snippet of that story, so I can confirm it exists. The bit I remember is that the pilot took control of the fire control crew to achieve a lock on the target and when he left, it rendered the crew exhausted and drained.
Unfortunately, I have idea what it was called.

Edited by: Pottsey on 28/04/2009 06:16:06 Thanks for confirming it. ShadowDragionn it was in a semi recent chronicle. I too thought the recent chronicle contradicts this but then I realised there are so many ships and ship variations there is no reason both methods cannot be true. Something like the Domi has been in use for generations and must have 100's if not 1000's if hull variations.
"chronicles and short stories on the EVE website that contradict this, meaning you are a pilot neurally connected to every major system on the ship," Surprising there are not that many. There is only one new story that contradicts the story I am trying to find and the chronicle had the Pod pilot neurally connect to the crew for short amounts of time as he needed them. Not a massive hive mind.
