Long story short...wife and I purchased the retail version of this game ~two weeks ago....she decided that she didnt like it....I decided that I love it....so now I have two accounts; an Amarr and Minmatar. I'm kinda thinking that I want to keep both accts up...1 for combat/pvp the other for spt/mining/crafting.
Question I have....which one is better suited for PVP/Combat skills & vice versa?
In most MMO's I have played...I always enjoye'd playing the tank/general support class...However...I am pretty intrested in the Electronic Attack/snipe/cloak skills
Having only played this for about two weeks...& not in a corp yet....I'd like some experience players feedback on which race I should focus on for developing PVP combat skills at.
Thanks

It really doesn't matter anymore (used to determine attributes and starting skills, now everyone starts the same). You can train for any race ship you want.
Mostly choose a race based on what portrait you prefer.

Well...I would like avoid hybrid/cross training for as long as possible...and get into "viable PVP" shape as early as possible...so Im trying to stay w/in the race ship/weapon lines as best-possible
Ive been reading the forums ...and have come up with some conclusions...that Rifters are decent early entry PVP ships.....however autocannons/projectile weapons are not that good anymore. Amarr have a good "electronic/cloak attack ship" (dont remember the name)...and thier laser's are good...
So...I guess if I were to stay "race-only" ships and weapons...which one has better/broader/early pvp capabilities....
Or is this question so newb that I should just re-roll....lol

Two weeks of skill training is basically nothing in the grand scheme of things. If you would have been smart about it, out of those first two weeks, you would have gotten at least some degree of learnings and support skills, so it's even less tragic if you "crosstrain" now as you might think.
Just pick some ships you think you'll like, try them, switch again if you don't, repeat. Cross-training all racial weapon systems and all racial frigates (maybe even all racial cruisers) doesn't take that long to do to L3/4, and should give you a much better idea of what you'll want to do in the long run. Better play with different "races" of ship now than commit to a race you might realize you don't really like by the time you're far into battleship-level training.
