Hi Producer,
Everyone knows that the most boring part of a producer's job is to sell his production.
So we can see how they fight in major hubs, decreasing the price from 0.01 isk each time from another; That's the good way to "business fight". But please stop to decrease price from 10K isk on products sold "just" 30 times this price. You kill the market, destroying all producers profit and at least your own profit. Yes you sold your stuff, but next batch you'll sell it cheaper...so your margin decrease and you **ck everyone.
So please do it well. (just a bunch of iskies each times) Isa.

Edited by: Kylar Renpurs on 29/04/2009 09:56:59 Dear Mr Trader,
Please stop undercutting my products by 0.01 ISK continuously. Doing so means I never get sales. I chose manufacturing as my trade because I don't have the time to babysit my orders all day and continually undercut by only 0.01 ISK. I have undercut by large amounts so that you might understand that you only hurt yourself by going as low as I, while I am in a position to undercut in such a way.
You don't have to undercut me, just wait till my product sells and I'll be out of your way.
Many Regards, Producer.
AKA: Deal with it. You play it your way, I'll play it mine. I (used to but) don't cry about your tactics, but I sure as hell enjoy drinking every one of your tears.
Once again, you *don't* have to follow me down. Let my goods sell and I'll be out of your way.
oh, btw:
Quote: so your margin decrease and you **ck everyone
Good. Your continual 0.01 ISK bidding and the issues it causes my business stuff me around, so if I'm screwing everyone over, that's a win for me, just like suicide ganking.

Is it just me, or does anyone else get a huge urge to start dropping all prices by big amounts after threads like this just to people that whine about their margins?

Edited by: Domasx on 29/04/2009 10:36:55 I'm also a trader, but i never do 0.01 isk wars. I just source my stuff at a lower price than highest buy orders in the hub i sell. Majority of the competition in a hub comes from speculation in that same hub, so i have higher margins than most. If 0.01 iskers don't let me get a decent turnover, i will reduce prices by largeish amounts, as it hurts them more than me.
So uh, the producer isn't allways to blame. If you can't manage a decent profit, drop that product.
Though, on the other hand, i have seen lemmings who keep buying/selling at the same hub for no profit or even at a slight loss. I write it down to not paying enough attention to market fluctuation and adjusting orders out of inertia

Universal rule: world is full of morons
That said, you will find a lot of annoying over the markets:
- Industrialists selling below cost price cause "minerals I mine myself are free"
- Traders undercutting by a lot for different reasons, 99% of these reasons are moronic. Notice I said 99% not 100%.
- 23/7 "traders" aka no-lifers, chinese trading farmers, and possible bots (still not confirmed), undercutting 0.01 all the day long instead of playing the actual game (spaceships). Its OK that you play the 0.01isk for 1hour, or for 3x 1hour in different times, but c'mon 23/7 you need therapy
and dont come expose this to the forums cause you finally find:
- Forum braggers/posers, these love to say how they earn billions every day and they lol@you and your low margins.
- Forum meistas/gurus, these think they are superior, elite class and they lol@you whining or showing your thoughts.

Ever consider that is exactly what the person wants, sorry to hear that you're having issues with someone who clearly has a superior understanding of marketing then your own.

I don't know about you guys, but my time spent doing something has a very tangible value. Instead of babysitting orders I can sell it in 30 minutes instead and do something that I value much more than playing stupid 0.01 isk games. Like surfing ****, or watching grass grow.

Sometimes when the .01 ISK wars are flaring pretty strong, I drop my prices to a near-unprofitable level, where I make an inkling of money, just for the hell of it.
Why? Because I can, and I enjoy the hatemail I sometimes get . Also, seeing how the market reacts is also enjoyable to watch. __________________________

The goal is to prevent competition from entering your markets in the first place. Once they're in your markets you'll have a hard time evicting them.

It's fun crashing a market, buying all the other lemmings' reduced price wares and selling it back to them.

Hasn't been working too well lately. Every time I try to crash a price using what I think is reasonable amount of inventory some !$!#@$@#$ buys me out just as the lemmings approach juicy profit margin levels.
Time to stop trading as myself and install different alts.

For this one reason (that's the 0.01 isk wars) , I no longer put any of my goodies on the market!! My big stashes of mods / mins / ships now only get sold to friends & Ex corp / alliance mates. The rest of any unwanted items either get repro'd down or Trashed!!
Personally, I find this is easier as my costs stay the same, my prices are always pretty much the same & what i'm producing is actually moving at speed. All Profits made are thrown back in which allows me to continue expanding.
Those that wish to play the silly isk wars only hurt the market as more & more suppliers stop using it & sell private. Sure, you end up being the only one selling a certain item, but at what cost?? Whilst your isk is tied up waiting for something to sell, alot of us are now only producing what is needed & getting a faster turnaround.
