so then there is no way to enter there space at all? and if that is so why keep it on the map its taking up space that could be better used for game development

because the idea is it is brought into the game some time in the future. It probably never will since jove ships are ****ing uber, it would imbalance the game too much. More likely would be some jove related events run by CCP in the old manner that they used to run concord.

If you'll notice, there is some use of those unconnected systems. do a search for the "Polaris" system for example.

You might also notice that CCP actually seems to give a damn about backstory, and put a lot of effort into things which seem to have no significant impact on gameplay. Like regions of space where the average player will never, ever go. Why is it there? Because the background says it is.

The Providence Block say they're the only truly neutral power block.
But then there is CCP Engineering Alliance. ________________________________________________

From someone who has done research.
There are currently no known routes into Jove space. There are two sections of Jove space, as well as two isolated systems. One of the isolated systems is where the alliance tournament took place, the other is for developer showboating or something. One of the major sections of Jove that is isolated from the other is for the quality assurance team to test and check for bugs. Finally, there is one section of Jove space, which remains 100% isolated. This is the space that should interest you.
The fact is there is no KNOWN way into that Jove space. That is not to say that there is not a way in, it simply may not have been discovered by anyone. Prior to wormholes everyone thought that the only way around space was through jump gates. For all we know some day someone might strike that lucky 1/100,000,000,000,000 chance of an exploration site that will grant them temporary access to Jove.
The history of exploration for Jove: At one point in the history of Eve, people were able to set their clones to stations that they had never been to. Some people set their clones to stations in Jove space. CCP put an end to this. There was also the ability through scanning to hard navigate you way across systems, I believe by scanning for cosmic anomalies. There was a pair of individuals who made it to Jove space, but since the game is bound by programming, they faced the hard realities of there being no session change and there was nothing there. CCP then made anomalies spawn within 4 au of planets so this would not happen again.
Keep your eyes peeled for clues because you never know what could actually be in the game that you are unaware of.

It is used for game developement... it is owned by TANIS. alliance (CCP). I guess its where they test sov mechanics among other bits and bobs.

It was more cunning, actually, as befits the EVE playerbase. People would get themselves stuck, file petitions, and then ask to be moved to "the system they were just in, I think it was called <name>" which was, of course, a Jovian system they'd never laid eyes upon before.
Quote: There was also the ability through scanning to hard navigate you way across systems, I believe by scanning for cosmic anomalies. There was a pair of individuals who made it to Jove space, but since the game is bound by programming, they faced the hard realities of there being no session change and there was nothing there.
Again, sort of right. They didn't use scanning to get their bearings, the map itself shows you where you are going with the "you are here" dot. What they did, was simply travel very, very, very far in one direction towards Jove space from inside the known system closest to it. Technically, as you say, they never left the system. Without a stargate activation, there was never any session change.
On the map however, the "you are here" circle was placed over a Jovian system, since the map cursor was just tracking the distance traveled inside the system and then calculating where that would be according to the scale of the map. Really (and sadly), it was just a graphical map bug. This was made possible because, back then, you could fit more than one MWD, and could quite easily cover the vast distances that were needed to get the map to look like it did. I believe the 4au range on planets was an unrelated thing, but I could be wrong. I often am.

To be honest, if we were to develop Jove space, a project that would need a lot of resources to do it justice, it would be a "questionable" move to limit to it to that sort of degree. It would make an equally insanely awesome story, of course, but there would be uproar, no doubt about it.

I hate to say this, but you are wrong. A few (two or three, i cannot remember) pilots, used the scan probe mechanics, deliberately warping to inaccurate results of each others ships, essentially slingshotting past each other, or leap-frogging, whatever, this would gradually get them further an further out of the system. It took them a long time, but they eventually got to the point where the map showed them as being in Jove Space. Whilst they had not session changed, so nothing actually loaded. They posted it on the forums along with a small video depicting this (I remember it well).
It was quite some feat considering how long it took, 2 or 3 weeks, maybe more. ______________________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Yeah, but they are getting paid for it..right?
But seriously, some threads are just post after post of speculation...then a Dev posts and it clears up all kinds of things. Now I know not to waste my time looking for that magic 1:10000000 (9:999999999 for all you scammers) wormhole that may lead to jove space.

I have to admit that is pretty cool. Maybe Jove space isn't in normal space but another dimension..like WH space.
Hahahah ... it's all facts and figures to you, ain't it?
So what if you search for that extra dimension wormhole to nowhere? It's the exploration of it all.
Personally, I hate a game that's all numbers and hard lines. I like it to have mystery and possibilities. But, hey, that's just me.

I stand corrected! Had a feeling that was coming, actually. (This is why we don't interact by the way, you all know too much, you don't need us anymore. Our little birdies have left the nest! )
The event I remember was a Multi-MWD Scorpion traveling tirelessly in a straight line for weeks and weeks, but I confess, it was probably not the first time someone "made it". I love that scanning story though, hadn't heard of that before. Emergent gameplay at its best.

ok question what would have happend if you have jumped a carrier into there would you end up in jove spave or in the last system. i know there was more then likely no caps back them but just wondering.

It would be in the same place the ship(s) were. But because they had not session changed into the jove system, the carrier would not either. ______________________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Personally I think they should just have a wormhole, 1 in 9,000 or more randomly pop up that connects to Jove space, throw a few stations in there and some ships and let people just have their fill. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

let players become jove at 100mil SP (at the cost of those 100mil SP) ?
turn in your skill points, start out with the bare essentials, jove frigate cruiser and bs level 1 in your skill que (no sold skillbooks) and a jove frigate (with jump drive) in jove space.
seed the ships on the market, (all have jump drives) but only people born with the needed skills can pilot them.
"one more spam thread will get you a warning. - Thanks Hutch. " isn't a warning of a warning a warning? or just a warning of a warning? didnt he just get 'the warning'?

So basicly if I get 100 million SP I too can join a race of lethally depressed individuals who reproduce by having a kid grow from a tube and are glorified bookworms. Yay? -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:
