Grow up, people. The cloneless dead are gone. Forever. They don't exist anymore. Your time is better spent doing something for the living.
How's this for the living: The Zitek family of corps has been living out of Malk V for 6 years. Yes, thats since beta. As CEO of the Zitek PVP wing, I take great pride in this. It's a major factor in why we joined the Caldari Militia. We're one of the oldest corps in New Eden and have always called Malk V home. Yet we're still alive. All our assets.... some unreplaceable, were in that station when it was attacked. Yet we're still here, and still keep Malk 5 running strong. Don't just show up for the dead. Ignore the cowards who hide the deaths of the innocent and cloneless. Show up for those who have always and will always live here. And for those who now fight for the Caldari Militia. Semper Fidelis!

It is not for the dead; it is very much for the living. It is an organized opportunity to remember the dead and what they have to teach the living.

I was there just after it happened, my corp's haulers bringing medical supplies, food, blankets and whatever else was asked for and needed, as well as helping refugees off the station to other stations.
I will attend the vigil and let us pray such a thing never happens again. ------------------------ CEO Walks Forever Trade Inc

The only lesson the dead give the living by virtue of being dead is: "You are on your own, now. We aren't here for you anymore."
I wonder if it's a lesson the living will ever learn.

It is, isn't it? Your comments here remind me of a child picking at a scab.
You can't let it go, can you, Natalcya? Even though your comments here do nothing to forward your cause, even though what you demonstrate by marking every memorial with your scorn is that your path is nothing like most of the rest of us-- even the self-described infomorphs-- would choose.
And in so doing, you give us all the more reason to fight you if you should find some strange means by which your universe might even be possible.
The wound you keep poking is deep, ragged, and prone to infection; you'd much better leave it alone. But still you can't resist picking it, can you?
Human, yes, very.

With the 15th now only four days away, I'm getting the last few details squared away for the vigil, but I do have one request pilots:
A number of you have said that the planned time is inconvenient. As I have said, the planned time is subject to change, but in order to change it I need to know when to change it to
recommendations for a more appropriate time are greatly appreciated. If none are received, I WILL be going ahead at 2100.
Please respond ASAP. - Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

Please plan the main event for the best time for you; I will likely take a private moment earlier in the day. Making it possible for me to attend late on 15 May would likely make it almost on 16 May.

Edited by: Davion Vrynn on 11/05/2009 17:04:10 I would suggest a time around 23:00. That would likely accomodate more folks who operate on different time shifts from the standard galactic clock.
((If my math's right, it puts it about 16:00-19:00 in ATZ while still being before midnight in GMT. That way people won't be stuck at work or have to be up too late.)) ---

That does make more sense, actually...
alright, 2300 is now the working start time for the Vigil. still subject to change if an even better time presents itself. - Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

Final time established: We're beginning at 2300 hours EST
The ceremony itself will be brief - I will make a short speech and we will observe a minute's silence in the local public comms channel. Following that point, any who wish to do so are free to make their own speeches in the local channel, but as before I must ask that you try and keep it apolitical.
I have managed to secure the use of Function Room 2e aboard the station itself (for obvious reasons, many of the other function rooms are occupied that same night). It's in a part of the station that's been repaired and made good, so pilots can feel secure in attending the gathering. For those who cannot attend in person or who do not wish to do so, however, holographic emitters are available and can be accessed via the NEOCOM channel "Malkalen Vigil" which I will be decrypting once the minute of silence has been completed. - Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

Hakatain-haan? Something like that? I hope my pronunciation isn't too horrible. Thank you for this. I think that your monument is more thoughtful than anything I have ever achieved.

What had the strongest effect on me was the minutes of silence after the official minute of silence. I will remember that for nearly as long as that what was remembered yesterday.
Thank you all for coming.
