I notice that the low-end Macbooks now support each of the Mac client's specs independently, but are still covered by the "No Mac Laptops" caveat on the download page.
Has anyone tried running the client on these machines, and if so, does it work? |

It should work fine the Macbook Pro's have both the 9400 and 9600 and they seem to work fine for me however i do have issues with some random graphical bugs on the 9400 oh the highest settings.
Also the mac client tend to be more stable if your worried about heat as you can still adjust your fan settings where as the windows side wont :(. (see heat thread)

I'm on a Unibody Macbook 9400M in (single client) windowed mode, and things look okay, apart from broken textures mostly on some structures in space (ships and gates and stations are okay).
Mind if you're regularly in 100x100 fleet battles, I'd say go take a look at EC-P8R on Singularity first to fiddle with your settings.
Thing worth mentioning maybe is that there's a memory leak shutting down the client somewhere once about every 4 or 6 hours on 4GB RAM.
That'll require logging out from your Mac OS X to get a new client working, but no reboot is required.

No issues here other than keeping it cool
Got a MBP 15" Unibody here 4GB RAM on board... late 2008 model.
Only complaint I have is when I exit out of eve... something fraks with the GPU and causes some odd anomalies... which clean up after a clean restart.
Planning to "splurge" and get the next 15" model up from mine with more VRAM and I'm hopeful.

Interesting, was just about to post the same question as I saw this thread. So fps is alright on highest settings? Not considering the graphical anomalies some people mentioned. Been looking to replace my big bulky PC and ancient 13 inch macbook, and if EVE works alright i dont see any point in waiting anymore!
